This is the earliest I've ever seen it from Disney, but thanks to Cynopsis:
Kids, we now have a pretty good idea what to expect this fall on both ABC Kids
and the Jetix lineup. The most shocking thing is where W.I.T.C.H., the comic
series targeted towards girls, will debut.

"Later this morning Disney TV will make its 2004-5 season upfront programming
presentation to media buyers, planners and advertisers for ABC Kids, Disney
Channel, ABC Family, and Toon Disney. Disney will premiere six new series,
several of which will air on more than one of the four different channels.

New series for 2004-5 season for ABC Kids, Disney Channel, ABC Family & Toon
Disney: (listed here by title, network(s) and scheduled debut)
Phil of the Future; Disney Channel/June 04 & ABC Kids/Fall 04
Brandy and Mr. Whiskers; Disney Channel/Fall 04
American Dragon: Jake Long; Disney Channel/Fall 04
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!; JETIX on ABC Family & Toon Disney/Fall
04
Dragon Booster; JETIX blocks on ABC Family & Toon Disney/Fall 04
W.I.T.C.H.; JETIX blocks on ABC Family & Toon Disney/ February 05

Disney Channel (dates/times TBD) New Shows:

Phil of the Future, a live action comedy about Phil, a teen from the year 2121
starring Ricky Ullman (Dis. Ch.'s original movie Pixel Perfect). Phil and his
family find themselves stranded in the present time, with Phil facing life and
school here and now. The series is the creation of Douglas Tuber and Tim Maile
("Lizzie McGuire") who also serve as its executive-producers, along with Tim
O?Donnell (Lizzie McGuire), Hayma Washington (The Amazing Race), Matt Dearborn
(Even Stevens) and Tom Burhard (even Stevens).

Disney's Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, An Odd Couple styled buddy animated series
about a spoiled Poodle, voiced by Kaley Cuoco (8 Simple Rules) and an off beat
bunny, voiced by Charlie Adler (Rugrats). Russell Marcus (Married With
Children) is creator and executive producer of the series. Bill Motz and Bob
Roth (The Legend of Tarzan) and Timothy Bjorklund (Teacher?s Pet) are executive
producers.

Disney's American Dragon: Jake Long, produced by Walt Disney Television
Animation, this is the story of an Asian American New York City teen who tries
to find the balance between the mystical powers of the American Dragon
entrusted to him and his skateboarding.

Jetix on ABC Family / Toon Disney New Shows:

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go, is a futuristic anime-style
action/adventure series about a 13-year old boy, Chiro who heads up a band of
high-tech monkey warriors as. Produced by from Walt Disney Television
Animation. Fall 2004

W.I.T.C.H. This animated series is based on Disney Publishing's comic magazine
of the same name. W.I.T.C.H. is about five female teens with various magical
powers who as Guardians of the Veil, the border between good and evil, work to
maintain the natural order of the universe, while facing the trails of being a
teen. The series is a production of SIP Animation. The program joins Jetix
mid-season, date & time TBD. February 2005

Dragon Booster. A CGI animated good against evil set in a timeless world where
humans, including the protagonist Artha Penn and dragons like Beau co-exist, as
they fight against the forces of evil. The show is from Alliance Atlantis and
is currently airing in 64 countries. Fall 2004

ABC Kids, ABC Saturday morning programming block. Phil of the Future joins the
ABC Kids 2004-5 season grid, when the new line-up premieres (date TBD) this
fall. ABC Kids 2004-5 fall schedule:

9a Lilo & Stitch: The Series
9:30a Fillmore
10a The Proud Family
10:30a That's So Raven
11a Phil of the Future
11:30a Lizzie McGuire
12n Kim Possible
12:30p Power Rangers Dino Thunder

Jetix programming block on ABC Family: Jetix adds three new series to its kid
line-up for the 2004-5 season. The JETIX 2004-05 schedule on ABC Family:

Jetix Weekdays
7a Digimon
7:30a Beyblade
8a Power Rangers DinoThunder
8:30a Digimon

Jetix Weekends
7a. Beyblade G-Revolution
7:30a Beyblade G-Revolution
8a Power Rangers DinoThuner
8:30a Power Rangers DinoThunder
9a Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go
9:30a Dragon Boosters (premiere October ?04)*
10a Digimon
10:30a Spider-Man
11:30a Gargoyles

Jetix block on Toon Disney; 2004-5 season, beginning fall 2004
Monday-Thursday:
7p The Legend of Tarzan
7:30p Power Rangers DinoThunder
8p Beyblade G-Revolution
8:30p Power Rangers Ninja Storm
9p Beyblade VForce (Friday Beyblade VForce)
9:30p Digimon (Friday Digimon)

Saturday-Sunday
7p Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!*
7:30p Power Rangers DinoThunder
8p Beyblade G-Revolution
8:30p Dragon Booster*
9p Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!
9:30p Digimon"

Well, the Jetix block expands by an hour on Toon Disney, not really a surprise,
but still no BoPR. And PRDT has a hour-run on weekends, but no BoPR, but you
can _count_ on the fact this lineup _will_ be changing. If ABC Family can't be
trusted with their weekly listings to remain the same, why should we expect
them to keep with this lineup until the fall?

Gotta love a show with a huge ol' name like this one. :)

This sounds kind of like Sailor Moon, with the Disney touch. I doubt it'll
have gender-bent villains, though. ;)

If you thought Jetix was going to be 100% boys-centric, then yeah.
It's almost a lock that it will be somewhere in the 10-12 block,
replacing one of the non-original shows. It's not that much of a
reach.

But, to me, it shows that Disney is stepping up and trying to position
itself -- especially for Jetix -- as a major player in the kids TV
market by actually having a Kids upfront and having it early, not too
long after KWB/Cartoon Net had theirs.

Gotta say I like the name of this one too. If it were Sentai, its PR
counter part would be something like Power Rangers Simian Force. (LOL)

Obviously, this means GMA is going to run 8-9. Pushing PR back to
12:30 (NBA Inside Stuff is being moved to Sundays) means it's going to
be pre-empted and time-shifted by even more affiliates. I'm not so
sure they wouldn't have been better off by running one hour of the E/I
block from 7-8, then GMA, then the rest from 9-12.

But, finally, Recess is gone.

This can't be right. The cutback on Digimon on weekends should mean a
cutback here as well. I wouldn't be surprised if SRMT and/or Dragon
Boosters eventually replaced one or both of the Digimon here and the
whole weekday lineup ended up as support for the fresh shows on
weekends.

Of all the old shows to keep at an hour, why Spidey? Probably only
because it has the biggest library of shows upon which to pull -- with
the exception of BoPR.

If ABC Family wants to be a bigger player in the Kids TV business,
they have to have a higher concentration of fresh programming. Right
now, only 3 of the 10 slots are filled by shows that are "fresh"
(shows that haven't appeared anywhere but Jetix) -- both slots of
Beyblade and PRDT. This new schedule doubles that to 6.

In order for ABCFam/Jetix to become more competitive, the old shows --
including BoPR, as much as that saddens all PR fans -- must go.

Wouldn't they want to make more use of the franchise? They've only shown 59.4
percent (value courtesy of PROAC) of the Power Rangers episodes. They have
that huge library of Power Rangers shows waiting to be aired. Wasn't BoPR one
of the highest rated shows on ABC Family at one time?

On a different note, if they're not ever going to show BoPR on Toon Disney,
then they really made a mistake with those advertisements showing PRiS and
whatever else.

I see what you're saying and it looks like you might be right from the
schedule, but I would just think they'd want to show more of the episodes.

I guess we'll find out if the schedule changes in the fall. And like Tommy
said, they change the schedule all the time. Nothing says they can't add BoPR
to the schedule at a later time.

One other thing I forgot to mention is the airing of Power Rangers Ninja Storm
on Toon Disney in the fall. That is a little late in the year to still be
airing last year's series, and could suggest that there will be no BoPR.
Otherwise, PRNS would become part of BoPR. But then again, PR has never been
on Toon Disney before and they just started airing PRNS. It depends if they
want to do with it like ABC Family did with Time Forece, or if they want to
really show it for a full year.

Ok, my thoughts on each new acquisition.

Meh, I'll give this show a chance.

Same here.

One of the two shows I'm looking forward to seeing from the Disney
networks. This looks pretty cool.

Sounds interesting. I'll check it out.

Here's the second of the shows I'm anticipating. I am a big fan of
the female superhero genre, so I'll DEFINATELY be tuning in.

Interesting.

I'm assuming the asterik for Dragon Boosters is because of the
W.I.T.C.H show replacing it next Spring.

Try FK UK, if you want PR overkill -- 5 episodes of PRNS each weekday,
with one running three times in succession -- 3.30pm, 8.30pm, next day
9am. *sigh* Btw, we've never had a COMPLETE run of PRNS yet -- it's in
the 3rd rerun cycle, and each time at least 2, sometimes more episodes
have been/are being skipped. (I missed "General Deception I" the first
time it was shown, and to the best of my knowledge, "A Gem of a Day"
hasn't aired at all - yet.)

On weekends, the schedule is 6.30 am, 11-12am, 8.30pm.

Oh, and we get reruns of all the earlier series each night -- a 4-ep
block from 11pm to 1am which is repeated in the VERY early morning --
4-6am. (Right now, it's MMPR.)

That's 13 episodes a day Mo-Fri, 12 Sat/Sun. A total of 89 PR episodes a
week. Oh, and if you insist, add the same amount from FK+1 -- same
programming, just 1 hour later.

Can we say there's too much of a good thing?

All this hpe for W.I.T.C.H is pretty petty considering it will only go
65 episodes and be replaced with another mass-marketed franchise for
Disney

I don't think the 65-episode limit is going to come into play here.
That only seems to apply to shows on Disney Channel proper.

Gargoyles was not a Disney Channel original, neither was Darkwing Duck.
Both of them barely hit 65, and Gargoyles was an excellent show.
