I will gladly attempt to answer some more of your questions for you, but
if you and your wife have *not* read _Winnie-the-Pooh_ and _The House at
Pooh Corner_, you are cheating yourselves out of some delightful reading.

Hope this helps Pooh in his return to your wife's school. Maybe the
teachers took Pooh hoping that she would *read* the *real* books by Milne
and thereby learn the answers to the trivia questions ?!?

Good luck,
Glenda

Kidnapped Pooh:

Pooh is still missing and the kidnappers are getting twitchy. We fear
that we may never see the tubby cubby again unless the quiz is
completed. We are still getting pictures of Pooh as he visits many
locations around town. We even got a picture delivered to us at a
restaurant where we had taken my daughter for her birthday.

Thanks to a source known only as "poohbar", we now have most of the
answers. I have separated out the unanswered questions and listed
them directly below. If you know the answer to ANY of these, please
reply by post or email. I will compile the answers and, at the end,
post the full quiz with all of the answers.

Many thanks to Poohbar at 3 cities.com (mangled the email address to
foil spammers).

Kidnapped Pooh:

Thanks to the kind efforts of those of you on the newsgroup, we now
have believe that we have usable answers to all of the questions. The
only point of contention seems to be over the name of Piglets house.
One response said that it was "The wolery", and another suggested
that, since Piglet moved in with Pooh, it was Sanders. Not being
sure, we went with the Wolery answer because the question referred to
Piglet, not Pooh. We will continue to watch the newsgroup in case a
consensus emerges.

Again, we are grateful to all of you. While the responses came from 4
of you, the level of scholarship is a product of the whole group.

As I promised, below is the entire quiz with the answers filled in.
Enjoy.

Thanks,
Roger & Diane Feeley

After Owl's tree is blown down, Rabbit puts out notices to everyone to
help find a new one. Eeyore goes off and finds *Piglet's* house, and
leads everybody there. Piglet (who is still in something of a Heroic
Glow, from Pooh's special Hum about him) sacrifices his house for Owl,
and Pooh promptly says that Piglet can move in with him.
Since the question asked about the "new name for Piglet's house", "The
Wolery" is correct.

There *are* a couple of wrong answers in this list, however.
Specifically:

> What is the name of Owl's Old World Residence of Great Charm? THE
>WOLERY

"Owl lived at The Chestnuts, an old-world residence of great charm"
from "Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One".

>What do the initials B, HB and BB stand for? BACKSON, HERBACEOUS
>BACKSON AND BISY BACKSON

"It was a Special Pencil Case. There were pencils in it marked 'B' for
Bear and pencils marked 'HB' for Helping Bear, and pencils marked 'BB'
for Brave Bear."
From "Christopher Robin Gives Pooh a Party and We Say Goodbye".

>Name three of Rabbit's Friends and Relations. SMALL, VERY SMALL
>BEETLE, HENRY RUSH

"And the last and smallest friend-and-relation was so upset to find
that the whole expotition was saying 'Hush' to* him* , that he buried
himself head-downwards in a crack in the ground, and stayed there for
two days until the danger was over, and then went home in a great
hurry, and lived quietly with his Aunt ever-afterwards. His name was
Alexander Beetle."
From the "Expotition to the North Pole".

"Small's real name was Very Small Beetle, but he was called Small for
short"
From "The Search for Small".

"...several members of the Beetle family, including Henry Rush, , made
their way to the Hundred Acre Wood and began climbing trees..."
From "Rabbit's Busy Day".

Hi all.
I'm new to this newsgroup, but I think I know one of the trivia answers.
The children's library in New York is called (I'm pretty sure!) the
Donnelly Library, and it's on 53rd St. near 6th Ave. should anyone want to
visit. That's where I believe the original toys now reside.

Small and Very Small Beetle are the same person. Alexander Beetle is
the other F&R named. (He's the very last one in the Expotition, the
one everybody is saying "hush" to.)

I'm afraid the Pooh Dictionary is wrong, in this particular case.

The note Rabbit finds in "Rabbit's Busy Day" says:

GON OUT
BACKSON
BISY
BACKSON
C.R.

When Rabbit and Owl are discussing the note, Owl mentions the "Spotted
or Herbaceous Backson".
