I think that Disney's sensitive portrayal of Piglet's stuttering is charming.
It is not like the Porky Pig character where the stuttering is done to get a
laugh.

Somebody said that Christopher Robbins was a real person who actually
stuttered. Does anyone know if this is true?

Christopher Robin was A.A. Milne's son IRL and the characters (except for
WOL and Rabbit) were toys that he owned. I seem to recall hearing
somewhere that he *did* have a stutter, but I could be wrong. Have to
consult my Pooh bedside reader when I get home and check.

It is a book that was published under that title. I have seen it in
B.Dalton and a few other stores. I'm not sure who the authors are, but I
know it's not Milne. It has news reviews and bytes about the pooh books,
info on the characters, short interviews with Milne and Shepard. It's
lovely reading. Good luck finding a copy!

The author is A.R. Melrose, the person who wrote the Pooh Dictionary. I
picked mine up at Borders. I think I may also have seen it at the Disney
store at one point.

And may I just weigh in that as a Classic fan, I find it annoying that
Disney gave Piglet such an exaggerated stutter. It's not at all true to
the Milne books, when the only time Piglet stutters is when he's really
scared. (The only Disney Pooh I've seen -- just a couple of weeks ago --
had Piglet stuttering all over the place!)

However, if Disney reaches little kids who stutter or have other
difficulties and lets them know that it's OK, I suppose I'll get off my
Purist Milne high horse and applaud them for that.

For what it is worth, I saw one at the Disney Store. If you have one
nearby, try looking there. They had some others too, but I can't remember
the names:)

Does anyone know where I can find a big Piglet stuffed animal? I've
checked local stores in my area and all I can find are Pooh, Tigger, and
Eeyore dolls. I've heard that Disney World is the only place that sells
them. Please let me know!

JC Penny's has a pretty good sixe Piglet. I just picked one up for my
son. It is the My first Piglet Doll. Check with JC Penny's in the
kids section. If they don't have it on stock, they can order it!!

that a Thing which seemed very Thingish
inside you is quite different when it gets
out into the open and has other people looking
at it.

Do you have a local Disney Store? They have the old fashioned piglets and
i think some new ones, too! They have them at Hallmark, too.
