"It's a Sunshine Day!" I've always compared Bobbie to TV actress
Maureen McCormick's portrayal of Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch, for
all the obviosu connections, and it's confirmed with her cheering a
depressed woman with Brady Bunch songs. Boy, Bobbie is sure magical!
[Originally aired on ??/??/00/]
"My Three Sons-almost dead ones! But God Bless Herbalife"-It's a happy
day in May 2000 when our favorite homeowner is thankful that she
restrained herself from smothering her own sons with a pillow, thanks
to Herbalife, whose founder Mark Reynolds had then died. But callers
get outraged at this TOTALLY obvious MURDER! [Originally aired on
5/22/00.]
"The Rabbit Went in the Hole"-Callers are pissed at Bobbie as a mother
and as a human. Bobbie's son is accused of being a teenage rapist.
Bobbie mentioned the episode title I just gave as a euphemism [the
highlight of the show, along with citing "mommy" as a typical
seventeen year old boy's form of endearment for his mother, and a
running gag in the episode.]. Her husband is drunk! [Originally aired
on 2/08/02.]
"Unholy Leadership! Clean House-I mean, Church!"-Since the 2002
Catholic priest molestationms, it is time to clean house, so Bobbie
and Steve dooley rat out the priests as if in a Joseph McCarthy-
Communist-Burl Ives-Robert Taylor [the two 1940s celebrities had been
involved in similiar 1950 cleaning-house of Communism scapegoats] way,
to get married priests [so who's to say that THEY won't follow suit
from the sickos?].
Phil makes a point one priest without blame has even been similiarly
scapegoated [not by the Dooleys, btw.] [Originally aired on 4/22/02].
"Lights! Camera! Action! Our Child's Been Molested!"-With the priest
scandals, it's obvious that the Dooley's kid Justin got molested, so a
documentarty's in order. HUH? Phil investigates. SOMETHING's
wrong..Even Sandra Bullock will play her! [Well, she did play
cheerleader Leigh Anne Tuley in "Blind Side' 7 years later...are you
still waiting Bobbie? :)] [Originally aired on 7/??/02]. Callers:
Lizzie, Kimberly[?], Dee.
"Sept.11,2001? WHAT 9/11?"-Like Lizzie McGuire [no, jackball peeps,
NOT the caller in the last show, Lizzie is a real name!!!!] that year,
"So Yesterday" is Bobbie's mantra of the day as she feels terrorism is
past and we can now move on. She reccomnds these musicals, "Mama
Mia","Thoroughly Modern Millie", though omits "Hairspray", which
admittedly didn't yet preimire ["Julie Andrews has made that hers", on
"Millie", as Julie oriignated the role.]. But Phil is worried that
such a casual, cavieler attitude on Sept.11, esepcially with not even
a year [at the time of this airing] of the WTC attacks arrived, isn't
yet timely, and callers are outraged on this.Francis Lai's own version
of his 1965 movie theme "A Man and a Woman" [say "tha-aatt's..attts..a
woman and man, woman and a man, it is a woman and man, woman and a
man," in down scale tune, that's the "Man and a Woman" song. Every
bachelor should know it.] For a woman whose theme, "Holiday for
Strings" was written during World War II, which is mentioned by the
last caller, this tune isn't requested by the callers, but who knows
such treivia today!:) "HFS" also doesn't appear much here.
[Originally aired on 8/13/02.] Callers include: Maureen, Cathy, Jamie.
"Hooray for September 11, 2001!!!!"-While I'm at it, on September
10,2002, Steve and Bobbie Dooley of Western Estates Home Owners
Association of Southern California, are reassuring people that
Pres.George Bush Jr. is, with his so-called Orange Terror Alert, doing
it as a joke, rationalizing that "clowns do it all the time. Orange is
not a scary colour." Callers don't care, saying that there is no
difference between the more familiar red alert for emrencies and this,
and call Bobbie insensitive. Phil drops the callers near the end and
talk just to them. Great voice role acting btween Phil at this point
as him, Bobbie, and Steve. [Originally aired on 9/10/02.] Callers:
Jenny Lee, Christy. [Another, a man between the two girls, dropped out
after 3 second, saying "Hello Phil? Hello Phil?" with a bad
connection.
"Ahhh...David Westerfield is suffering what Danielle Von Damme is!". -
Bobbie and Steve feel bad not just for Daniellem but for the evil
murderer who took her life, and insists against the death penalty,.
Callers call in outraged and attack her correctly as trivial.
[Originally aired on 1/03/03].
"Kobe better than Jerry Lewis"-Kobe Bryant criminal status jury
judging, Bobbie Dooley/Western Estates style. Callers think Lewis is
better at the basketball games trying to help disabled kids [whom
Bobbie lumps with ":retards"]. Bobbie sides with Kobe [as you'd think
she would] and insists Jerry Lewis is a liar.Phil, doing yet another
great performance as both himself and Bobbie, yells as if really angry
at a real lady, "OMIGOD!" [Originally aired on 8/??/03.].One of a
trilogy,Aired during the height of the Kobe Braynt scandal.
"Bobbie Sox"-Bobby's acting like a bobbysoxer, a perky teenager ever
since a booze clekr carded her, causing Bobbie to take it as a
compliment. Well, again, she acts like a teenager--a Jessica "Sweet
Valley High" Wakefield type, and I've always imagined her as a blonde
with Marcia and Jan Brady hair [see top of post.] [Originally aired on
7/27/04.] Callers include: Gladys, who Bobbie teases as too young as a
white "Gladys."
