Being evicted from KFI must have been terrible.

I listen every day. Have a backstage pass and download the mp3's to
my mp3 player.
While loosing KFI is a bad thing phil will still be going strong on
his new station. I think it is a good move for him. As he pointed
out his show is mostly men and he is a perfect match for the sports
radio demographic.

of other note:
He seems to have dropped the LDS gag which was funny.
I love the guy who calls in to complain.
And Bud Dickman going through the phone to commit murder is one of the
funnist things ever.

If you mean all the anti-hendrie posts, I think it's just because of
all the cross posting...

I think the negative ones are from the same one or two people who are waging
some sort of vendetta. I think Phil is the funniest thing going on TV or
radio today, period. I too subscribe to BSP and have downloaded hundreds
(maybe a thousand) of his bits. The man's a comic genius.

the negative posts are these "haters" who don't like Phil's view on the war.

99% of all people here like Phil and are fans. The others don't have the
mental capacity to change the station on their radios.

I post stuff in other groups of Phil's and I constantly get props for
hooking people on Phil. I have every show on mp3 from early 2002 and people
I work with are always asking me for shows.

I think some of the negative comments are coming from "Professional
Haters" (read radio professionals). Other wise if they hated Phil as
much as it sounds like why would they listen or even care. Muchless
monitor Phil's fan newsgroup.
For all the "Professional Haters". Just like Barry "the freak"

I realized I really dig Don Parsley. I think it's Don Parsley, anyway.

I haven't heard a Don Parsley bit in a while. It is funny stuff.
But having Rudy back is nice. He was one of the first bits I heard
after I had figured out the gag. I was wondering if Phil had dumped
him for shortly after that since I hadn't heard one bit in the last
few years. La La Laa

Fuck KFI, maybe all the talent should go to satellite, stations only care
about ads and "friendly" programming so they can suck the FCC's fucking
cock!!!!! Phil rules, even above Stern these days.

I don't know what the exact percentages are, but I'll tell you where I
stand:

- There is probably no one who has given me more radio joy than Phil.
- There is probably no one that has let me down as much as Phil.

I suspect other people had the same reaction. They were *so* happy
with Phil at his best that it killed them to hear Phil at (what they
consider) his worst.

- I am definitely grateful that Cletus is posting Phil, so I can keep
checking in -- seeing if Phil's on a roll with bits that make me happy
or on a roll with bits that make me quickly skip to the next one.

Go, Cletus! :-)

The guy has incredible talent. As an improviser, as a creator of
characters, as a social commentator THROUGH his characters, he's
fantastic. But when he began devoting about half his show to
drop-kicking liberals the way Limbaugh and Hannity do, he probably
alienated a lot of his core audience and became just another Right-wing
talk show host to potential new listeners.

I'm one of the people that think Hendrie's a comic genius and am always
overwhelmed w/his great talent and timing. However, I'm also one of those
people that can't stand his right-wing rants and as soon as he starts on one
of them I switch the station. Why should I hear Phil do it when I don't
even listen to rush and hannity and they do their rants for a whole
three-hour shift.

I think the great thing about Phil is his satire on the attitudes of
Americans these days ... the lawsuit trigger happy (Steve), those who
think their opinions are so important as to monopolize those of others
(Margaret, Bobbie) etc etc.
And although a lot of people might not consciously know why, i'd
suspect that this is the attraction of the show to his audience.

As long as he's got his affiliates across the country, he'll be fine on
the sports radio show. I'm just gonna be pissed when it's pre-empted
cause of the Lakers.
Just one more reason to hate em ...

It's probably people affiliated with competitors in the talk show business.
But some of these people do seem to have some rather inside information.

In my opinion Phil is the funniest comic I have ever heard. Yea, you
have to wait sometimes to get to the funny stuff but hey fuck it. Try
talking for three hours five days a week and see how funny you are.
Phil isn't going anywhere. Yeah his ratings may drop, he may get
dropped from some affiliates, but Phil has a cult-like following. Phils
fans are rabid, they love him to death. That will never change. So
what if he talks about some serious shit sometimes, it will turn some
people off but fuck it the man has the right to talk about whatever he
wants. There is some serious shit going on in the world and he has
something to say about it.

Nobody holds a candle to the PHS in my opinion. I will never forget the
day I was fucking around with my car and heard that guest Chris Norton
was going to make love to 160 women on the Santa Monica Pier to
commemorate the bombing of the FBI building in OK. Yeah I got tooked,
but I haven't laughed that fucking hard in all my life. Phil is a
fucking genius, he is a legend, and we all look forward to years and
years of Phil. Stay healthy Phil.

I do not like him. He's an ass. But his characters are great. So as
long as he sticks to his characters, I listen. When he veers into
commentary, I'm gone. Glad to see the latest version of his show has
mostly characters. Just found it.
