Hi there, silence-that-is-Thingiedom!

I wonder, is anyone else having this problem? Since yesterday, Thunderbird shows me regularly that
there is one unread message in afng, but when I go there, it disappears, and I haven't put anything
on ignore, so wtf???

While we're at it, I just received the final volume of "Absolute Sandman" and it's as gorgeous as
the rest of 'em. Can't wait to reread it all in one go, and this time for the first time in the
order the issues were published. One thing is bothering me, however. Why are Dreamhunters, Endless
Nights, The Last Sandman Story and the story from the 9/11-volume with Death and Destruction
missing? An "Absolute Sandman" does not seem to be as absolute without these canonical texts written
by Neil (even though I did not care much for the 9/11-story, it seemed out of character for
Destruction). I've had a look through the journal, and Neil also mentions this but feels that the
four volumes should be "it", but he could imagine having a "Supplemental"-Volume. I hope he does
that. Now I am waiting for the Death volume, and as far as I know, the Death Story from Endless
Nights is in there. This again seems odd, since it was conceived as part of Endless Nights, and
simply ripping it out of that context feels wrong. Ah, well.

Anyways, hope all'a youse are well and dandy and that you have a loverly christmas and a
Supercallifragilisticexpialidocious New Year!

Sweet Dreams!

Colt, just about to take a break from work to finish his Ph.D.

Google Groups sent out two posts yesterday from the group with Chinese
characters - same source for both, one didn't even parse as characters
(twas spam of course)

Am guessing that's it.

Am feeling rather bah humbug-ish (occupational hazard of reading the
financial news daily) about the holidays - how about you all?

Yes, I agree. Every officially, written by Gaiman Sandman related story
(with the possible exception of the Death stuff since it's getting its
own volume) should be collected in the Absolute editions. It is
"Absolute" after all isn't it? I definitely think a further
supplemental volume is needed. I even wrote in to Neil suggesting that
the two page "jam session" story that was done at Fiddler's Green be
included as a special extra. This would be the first time it would be
published and although it really is nothing but a novelty, since it was
"written" by Neil and it is the Sandman characters as illustrated by
Sandman artists it is an official Sandman story IMO. I thought it would
be a nice addition to one of the four volumes but I see they didn't take
my fanboy advice to heart.

On another note. Are they truly collected in the published order? I
have only read the first two collections and since the only way I had
ever read it was in single issues as they were originally issued I
can't say I thought about it. I know alot of the odds and ends were
collected in one volume "Fables and Reflections" I think before.
So are the stories that weren't part of the normal monthly book
numbering placed in the flow of things by their published date
interrupting the regular book?
