Here more info on the transition now taking place at the Sci-Fi Channel. Barry
Schulman's resignation was effective immediately. And, today, USA Networks
announced his replacement. The company has promoted Bonnie Hammer to Senior
Vice President, the Sci-Fi Channel Programming. She will also serve as Senior
Vice President of USA Networks Original Production. She will report to Stephen
Chao, President-Programming & Marketing of USA Networks.
Currently, she is Vice President of Original Production and Current Programming
for USA Networks.

In her new position, Hammer will have primary responsibility for all facets of
The Sci-Fi Channel's programming and will be actively involved in its marketing
strategy, officials said.

Hammer joined USA Networks in 1989, and has been responsible for the
development, production and supervision of original fiction, reality-based
series and specials, numerous international co-productions as well as
overseeing the original production department.
Highlights of her career at USA include the Governor's Award (a national Emmy)
for USA Networks' "Erase the Hate Campaign," which she created and executive
produced. Additionally, Hammer supervised such series as "The Hitchhiker,"
"Forever Knight." and "Ray Bradbury Theater."

Prior to joining USA Networks, Hammer was a programming executive at Lifetime
Television Network, and created and supervised that network's "Signature
Series." For the 1988 documentary "Gangs: Not My Kid" she was awarded the Women
in Film Festival's Lillian Gish Award, as well as the Cine Golden Eagle and the
National Association for Youth's Mentor Award.

Before THAT she worked at Dave Bell Associates in Los Angeles, where she
developed reality based programs and executive produced the nationally
syndicated and cable TV talk show series "Alive & Well." Additional past
credits include producing Boston's number one rated morning talk show "Good
Day!" ans such nationally televised PBS series as "This Old House," "Infinity
Factory," and "Zoom!"

Here's hoping that, in addition to that impressive background, she has a sense
of humor. Good luck, Ms. Hammer!

With that dickweed off to seeking greener pastures, does this mean
that MST3K is in deep dog dodo if the ratings dip ever so slighty? I'll
bet that those Best brains are squremming more than the First Bubba on
the witness stamd. Sweating gravy as he says ," Uh she must of been
lookin' fer a pen I dropped."
