TSK TSK children! ARe tthere really any facts behind either of your
arguments? No, I think not...besides, the penis is really just an

documented proof, too. So get thee behind me, Satan! (And you too,

*Chuckles at Bonni's reply*

Ok, I'm rusty but here's the basics. The previous poster is right. All
life starts as female. At about 6 weeks gestation the future male child
is bathed in hormones to "switch" it over to be a boy. Researchers
believe that it is this "pause" in development that causes male babies to
be smaller in weight, behind in development and more likely to die than
girl babies (this likelyhood of early death doesn't balance until age 12
or so - and then only because little boys are risk takers). While I'm at
it I may as well start another thread... women enjoy this same vitality
(overall) for most of their lives. Women are more *able* in almost all
realms of physical endurance (barring absolute strength in a sudden
burst). Put a male and female together, condition them equally and then
ask them to run as far and as long as they can (or swim, etc) and the
woman will be going long after the male has dropped. For you naysayers
I would point to the marathon times. The gap between male and female
performance is steadily being eroded as more and more women are able to
participate in the sport to an equal degree with males (at a young age as
well as in adulthood).

Very few men will let themselves believe this.... I wonder why?

i dont buy into the whole creationism bit. all fetuses start out the same.
FEMALE. then with the addition of certain hormones, the clitoris enlarges
to become the glans of the penis. the inner labia swells and fuses to become
the shaft of the penis.... the outer labia swells and fuses to become the
scrotum... Men didnt you ever notice the 'seam' that goes down the center of
your scrotum? that's what that is... a chromosomally male human, left
without androgens (hormones) during prenatal development, will be born, for
all intensive purposes, FEMALE... so this BS about a clitoris being a bit of
adam's willy is a crock of horseshit :) the willy is an overinglated
clitoris :)

True.

False. They start out bipotential.

It's the absence of androgens that leads to the female. Thus the clit is
an underdeveloped willy:)

I hate to point this out, but you are wrong. I'm not going to go into a
long dissertation as to why, I'll just supply a proof in the form of
indisputable facts.

Event Men's World Record Women's World Record
----- ------------------ --------------------
1-mile 03:46:32 04:16:71
2,000 meters 04:50:81 05:28:69
3,000 meters 07:32:10 08:22.62
5,000 meters 12:58:39 14:37:33
10,000 meters 27:13:81 30:13:74

Obviously you were never in Track and Field, so you don't realize how
completely men dominate the sport (as well as all other sports). Now
both men and women have equal access to training, and both have the best
representatives of their respective genders participating... so how come
men always beat women if women have so much more endurance?

Wow. I love it when proving morons wrong is so easy and so concrete.

I am glad you love it when proving morons wrong is easy since you made it
so easy for the rest of us to point out your lack of intellectual ability.
Note that the original poster said that women will out-perform men in
tests of endurance -- not on peak strength or performance. Comparing times
for the same distance is comparing peak strength or performance for a given
feat. If however, the records had compared length of time that a man and
woman could run/swim/etc without stopping, then the woman's record would
most likely prevail.

If you are truly hung up on times for a given distance, you might note that
in the early marathons, the women consistently beat the men due to their
natural ability at endurance tests. Over the years training has been
developed to leverage men's naturally greater muscle strength and allowed
men to take the record in terms of lowest time.

In the 100-mile races it is not unknown for a woman to be the overall
champion. In a recent race a female American led for virtually the entire
race and was only passed at the end by a man from another country (in
South America I believe) who is from a village that lives their lives
running in the mountains. The woman beat all the other men in the race.

1 mile and 5k records (those that you posted) are speed records -- not
endurance. The next time you choose to call someone a moron, at least
have the forsight to not act like one yourself.

Uhm I think you missed the point, that while men are better at peak
performance, women come out ahead in the long push. Look at your
figures, at the short end Men can run the mile in 226/256 or 87% of the
time it take a women. At the long end The man is at 1633/1813 or 91%.
If this trend continues in the long run the female would overtake the male.

Two Other factors which could have an effect. One, more males go into
sports which means that all of the normal curve expands, this means the
person at the extemes will be further from the norm even if the average
is the same.
Second, one could make a case for male track and field being more
emphasized and thus receiving more funding.

Speed != endurance. Speed is NOT the same as endurance.
(It warranted saying twice.)

The fastest men are faster than the fastest women. But I seem
to remember reading that women have less variation, so that the
slowest men are also slower than the slowest women, and I think
the men's *average* may be below the women's average, for speed.
Also, physical size makes a difference in speed. Obviously, it
would take a hell of a lot of work for a mouse to run faster
than you can. I believe that when you correlate the speed with
the body size or leg length, you may find that the women do
better than the men.

Oh you do, do you. How about Zero speed. That's the slowest the girls I know
can go. And.. I can't go slower than that can I. Unless you consider backwards
to be negative speed.
