<a different sketch each time goes into...>
...I wanted to be...a lumberjack! Leaping from tree to tree as they float
down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The Giant Redwood, the Larch, the
Fir, the mighty Scots Pine, etc (each version lists more, diferent trees).
...With my best girl by my side, we'd sing, sing, sing...
Oh, I'm a lumberjack and I'm O.K.
I sleep all night and I work all day
(He's a lumberjack and he's O.K.)
(He sleeps all night and he works all day)
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lavorat'ry
On Wednesdays I go shopping,
and have buttered scones for tea
(He cuts down trees...etc.)
CHORUS
I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers
I put on womens' clothing
And hang around in bars
(He cuts down trees...
...hangs around in BARS?!?!)
CHORUS
I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papar(mamar)
(He cuts down trees, he wears high heels,
...suspenders? and a bra?!?)
Much yelling, screaming, throwing things, etc.
(some versions sing Chorus again, others end with girlfriend saying something
like "I thought you were so butch")
I have heard at least four different versions, this is kind of an overview.
Good luck,

>Could some kind soul please post the lyrics for the Lumberjack song,

There's a great FTP site that has Monty Python lyrics plus lyrics for just about
anything else you want, too. It's "cs.uwp.edu" When asked for your name, you
have to enter "anonymous", and you don't really have to type in your e-mail
address after that even though they ask you to. Just hit <return>. The
directory you want to get into after that is "/pub/music/lyrics" Then you
change to directory "m" or "p" (I'm not sure which, but whichever one it is,
it will have all the groups that start with m or p respectively. Then you'll
change the directory to "python.monty" or perhaps "monty.python". When you
"ls", it'll show you all the songs that are available. Then you can simply
"get" them.
Enjoy. E-mail me if you can't get it to work.
