I can't believe the critics panned Fierce Creatures, its a much better movie
than a Fish Called Wanda. AFCW was very inoffensive, especially with that
vulgarian Kevin Kline using gross expletives the way he does...they should
wash his mouth with soap!

FC was a much more pleasant film to watch, and it will teach men that sexual
harassment is wrong! (just like Kevin Kline says in FC--it appears that the
sensitivity training paid off!)

Those who like the movie AFCW are stupid idiots as far as I'm concerned!

Wait a sec.... you find it INoffensive? Then why should they wash his mouth
with soap? I realize it's late and I'm tired, but I can't wrap my head around
that sentence.

>Those who like the movie AFCW are stupid idiots as far as I'm concerned!

John Cleese probably likes it!

Do you really think these things? It's okay if you do, I mean, if there weren't
people who were offended by "bad words" then there wouldn't BE any "bad words",
so I feel we really owe those people a debt of gratitude for allowing them to
exist and enrich our language... I just can't believe anyone who likes Monty
Python would be one of those people. I for one am baffled.

If being a stupid idiot means knowing that AFCW is a superior movie *and* that
"inoffensive" is not an intensive form of the word "offensive," then heck, I'm
proud to be a stupid idiot!

The problem was all of the ads and trailers for the film gave away all
of the jokes! When I went to see th movie, there was nothing to laugh
at.

That's why I've learned to avoid trailers and "making-of"-stories at any
cost. When you've seen the preview clips a hundred times over, you don't
need to see the movie anymore. I've seen hundreds of trailers that were ten
times better than the movies themselves.

Did you bother to consider that the "vulgar (in your opinion) expletives"
weren't Kline's but a team of screenwriters'? He didn't *ad-lib* the bloody
film, y'know.

I completely disagree. Fierce Creatures was a badly written, poorly
executed piece of work. I sat through the whole thing open-mouthed in
disbelief at how amateur it was. I wanted to like it. Cleese has done much
better.

speaking of an idiot, here I am never having seen AFCW - but at least
the only reason I saw FC was for John Cleese

i.e. Star Wars I...
I avoided trailers for both movies as much as possible, unlike most of
my friends and family, because they all laugh stupidly at the jokes,
then are completely silent the whole movie and think it rates a 6 out of
10. I on the other hand occasionally require a small hushing and rate
movies 9 out of 10, cause the jokes haven't lost their humor.

and I almost never go to movies

Fierce Creatures was excellently written, brilliantly acted, if not
possibly as much of a classic as AFCW, then certainly a movie worth the
ungodly prices of admission.

I hereby nominate Arthur Figgis as club president. Vote for Arthur Figgis, who
understands the role of the idiot in a modern, rural society.

It's interesting, because at first I *hated* it. But when I saw it a couple
more times I started to like it more and more. *shrug* it's the subtleties,
I guess. And I'm not referring to "wonderful plumage".

Which Terry was the tarantula named after, I wonder? I'd go for Jonesy.
