Monty Python Radio on Sirius/XM

Sirius / XM Satellite Radio (primarily in North America, but also
available online) is running a Monty Python radio channel for 10 days
beginning 16 October. It's on Sirius Channel 105 and XM Channel 151.

From the Sirius website:

COMING SOON: MONTY PYTHON RADIO
Monty Python Radio, a 24/7 limited-run channel devoted to, and hosted
by, the iconic British comedy troupe will premiere Friday, October 16.
Launching the day after the stars receive a lifetime achievement award
from The British Academy of Film and Television Arts at the Ziegfeld
Theater in New York City, the channel will run for ten full days on
SIRIUS Ch. 105 and XM Ch. 151 featuring classic Python sketches, skits
and, songs; fans calling in with requests; fans and celebrities telling
favorite sketches and Python memories; and various members of the
original Python troupe reminiscing and talking of new projects.

Tune in to a special limited engagement channel to hear classic Monty
Python sketches, skits and songs from the Flying Circus television show
and classic Python albums including Holy Grail, Contractual Obligation
Album and Matching Tie & Handkerchief.

So far I've heard a lot of repetition, but at the same time I've heard
songs and sketches I didn't really expect.

The censoring of profanity also seems to be pretty uneven.

Still, it's a nice change of pace from the usual radio fare. Overall
it's a good effort and pretty good result.

Way too much repetition. I just came back from a R/T 500 mile each way
drive that started the day the engagement started. I was really
looking forward to a non-stop run of Python material.
Heard the same skits three times within 2 hours. Same goes for others.
With all the Python material out there they could have run for at
least 24 hours without a rerun.
Entertaining material, but Very Disappointed with the programming
department at Sirius/XM to say the least.

Wow, that bad? I've been listening for an hour or two in the evenings
most days. About half the material will be something I heard the day
before while the other half is fresher.

I was surprised to hear them play the "I Like Traffic Lights" and
"Farewell to John Denver" songs.

Of course, I can't help noticing that they didn't ask me to host a
show. :)

I think the problem is they are only using material from the recorded
albums/CDs, not cuts from the TV shows.

I really wanted to hear:

Are there legal issues in playing TV clips on the radio as opposed to
bits from vinyl or CD? Just asking.....

Everything is copyright protected, so there's been some sort of legal
agreement reached while programming the channel. They are playing TV
sketches though. A very ineffective example is the Ministry of Silly
Walks sketches. They're playing the TV audio track for this largely
visual sketch.

Yes and that's another problem with playing some Monty Python sketches
on the radio. Sometimes the visuals are essential to the piece.
