Yorkshiremen". very good sketch. highly recommended.

The correct name of the sketch is "The Good Old Days".

It can be found in "The Complete Sketches of Wing Commander Muriel
Volestrangler FRHS and Bar" by John Cleese. For the record, the sketch
predates Python. The original cast was John Cleese, Johnathon Lynn, Ronnie
Barker and Ronnie Corbett. JC also wrote a similar sketch for I'm Sorry
I'll Read That Again.
Sir David aka oh these ignorant Herns!

I've never heard of that...is that from "The Complete Sketches..."? (as
mentioned below)

The only other place I've seen it is on Live at Hollywood Bowl. But I
don't think it's been on any other audio recording.
In a similar vein, has anyone actually seen any of the "I'm Sorry I'll
Read That Again" shows, or even "Do Not Adjust Your Set", which I believe
Eric Idle used to work on? I'd love to take a look at some of those, any
help tracking down sources would be appreciated.
Ben Cordes aka I can't find my .sig file...
Yes - it's also on 'M-P Live at Drury Lane'

"The Secret Policeman's Other Ball" videocassette is where the Four Yorkshire
Men was originally played. "Monty Python: Live at the Civic Center" has the skit, although I don't know if "Live at the Hollywwod Bowl" does or not.
Sorry, but I kind of remember Rowan Atkinson as one of the wine drinkers (and braggers) around that table. Dunno where I've seen it, but it might have been a later performance (Hollybood Wovl??)
Besides, why name it "Four Yorkshiremen" on the record (I got it) if its name is "the good old days"?

Absolute crap! The sketch predates Python. I think it was from The Frost
Report or something similar.
Cheers

Rubbish! The sketch was first performed about 15 years before Atkinson
became famous. I can't say anything about the name change, I'm just
repeating what I sw aw in John Cleese's book.
