Someone on another of the MP forums floating about has asked if the Pythons
ever make a skit/film/show about the Crusades?

I can't remember one off hand but I could very well be wrong. Anyone?

David O. Seltzer's film ... clip, "Dr. E. Henry Thripshaw's Disease"
opens with a scene of marauding knights in "Syria, 1203", which is in the
ballpark.

Also, Python alumnus (and keen Rotarian) Terry Jones did some documentary
series about the Crusades, involving walking around in Turkey in chainmail
and such.

Terry G said that a possible Python project bandied about c. the Aspen reunion
was a reunion of Arthur's knights, with Arthur's remains brought along as a
holy relic (voiced by recordings of Graham), going off on a crusade. It got
about as far as any of the other kicked-around ideas.

Terry Jones did an outstanding documentary series (with some uniquely
pythonesque touches) on the History of the Crusades about 5 years ago.

It's been on The History Channel a couple of times here in the US as well as
available on Video (I have not seen it on DVD).

I recently got my copy of it on DVD. It was on eBay. Not sure of the region,
though. I only wish I had watched this sort of thing in school. I would have
actually paid attention and learned something. History done fun is history
learned, if you ask me.
