"Turneja" chosen as Serbia's entry for the 2009 Oscars
Moyra J. Bligh
for the 2009 Academy Award in the Foreign Film category. Ninety six
countries have been invited to submit an entry for the 2009 Oscars,
and 5 will be nominated in the category. The Academy Award nominations
for all categories will be announced on January 22, 2009, with the
presentation of the Awards being on Sunday, February 22, 2009.
The cast includes Dragan Nikolic, Mira Furlan, Svetozar Cvetkovic,
Josif Tatic, Vojislav Brajovic, Jelena Djokic, Gordan Kicic, Slavko
Stimac and Tihomir Stanic.
"Turneja" had its World Premier at the Montreal World Film Festival on
August 30th, 2008, where it won the FIPRESCI Award as well as the Best
Director honours for Goran Markovic.
