MEL B HAS BREAST IMPLANTS TAKEN OUT IN HEALTH FEAR
Star feared danger leak
SCARY Spice Mel B has had her breast implants removed amid fears they could
leak and cause health problems, it was revealed last night.
The worried singer was secretly operated on at a private clinic after her
silicone boobs hardened and became shapeless.
Consultant cosmetic surgeon Satish Sood carried out the pounds 2,000
procedure in just over an hour.
A source said last night: "Mel was worried that the hardening could cause
the implants to leak. They'd gone lumpy and were beginning to look a bit
shapeless.
"The operation was a straight forward procedure and Mel is fine. She's
relieved it's over."
After the op, Mel rested at London's Harley Street clinic for three nights.
She was discharged on February 26 and driven back to her pounds 2.5million
country home in Little Marlow, Bucks.
The health scare forced the 25-year-old star to pull out of her
eagerly-anticipated role in TV's Celebrity Big Brother. Her place in the
house was taken by Brookside actress Claire Sweeney.
Mel had her first breast enlargement surgery in May 1999 in Los Angeles -
just three months after she gave birth to daughter Phoenix Chi.
Later that year she returned to the same clinic to have her bust made even
bigger.
She has always denied having both operations. But former husband Jimmy
Gulzar spilled the beans after the couple's 16-month marriage fell apart.
It was partly Mel's decision not to even tell Jimmy about her American boob
jobs that led to the end of their relationship.
The dancer is still upset and confused over his ex-wife's decision to keep
him in the dark. Claiming she was flying to the States to work on her new
album, Mel finally confessed all to Jimmy three days later - in a long
distance telephone call from her hospital bed.
In an interview last year Jimmy said: "She called me and said, 'You know
what Jimmy, I've just had a boob job. I didn't tell you 'cos I knew you'd go
mad'.
"She said she had just come round from the anaesthetic and was sitting up in
bed in the clinic.
"Mel knew I was against it because it meant she would no longer be able to
breast-feed Phoenix. I felt she should come first. I wanted her to be strong
and healthy and the advice was that breast milk is best.
"Mel and I had discussed it and she knew I felt she should put being a mum
first. We argued about it but I was adamant, and I believed Mel was in
agreement."
A few weeks later, Mel secretly headed back to LA with Phoenix for her
second boob op.
Jimmy said: "I was devastated. Inside, I was very angry. I felt completely
betrayed and hurt that Mel had lied to me a second time. It was the
beginning of the end of our sex life. I was seething with resentment about
it all and couldn't forgive her the lie."
Mel isn't the first star to have their breast implants removed. Baywatch
beauty Pamela Anderson had her bust reduced from 34DD to its original 34B in
April 1999.
When surgeons removed her silicone implants they found one had been
punctured and was leaking. But the experience didn't stop her from having
another boob job a year later.

And all this despite flatly denying, on many interviews, that she hadn't
had them done at all. If she had them done, why deny it? What's the
point?
So who's telling the porkies here? - The gutter press or Gutter Spice?
