Question 2: Because another work with a similar title was to be

interface manager - aka microsoft windows

trying to verify the story but i think sunmicro systems was about to release
an os that used the term interface manager in the name...

Microsoft first began development of the Interface Manager (subsequently
renamed Microsoft Windows) in September 1981. Although the first prototypes
used Multiplan and Word-like menus at the bottom of the screen, the
interface was changed in 1982 to use drop-down menus and dialogs, as used on
the Xerox Star.

the rule was made in the event someone was trying to "impersonate" an aol

cut and paste from the acutaly tos guidelines:

* Pretend to be anyone whom you are not. You may not impersonate another
member (including celebrities), an AOL employee, or a Community Leader.

however its pretty pointless, all this person has to do IF AOL even gives a

I'm talking about calling me unbalanced when her behavior seems a bit
unbalanced to me, especially to what she was responding to.

Not in this post, in the past some people have. I didnt even mean them in
particular.
You dont find it extremely odd that she reacted how she did because I clarified
what AOLs TOS was?

Your post implied that Bill and Mikki called you unbalanced or a name.
If you didn't intend to imply that you should've replied to the post
that did.

No, I don't find her behavior odd.

You, because of your behavior in this newsgroup, have been told you are
unwelcome and, IMHO, most of us have tried to make you feel unwelcome.
I hearken back to the time you drove me out of the Mark and Brian AOL
folder and then this newsgroup. To this day, I don't know what I did to
incur your wrath, nor do I care. What I did was to leave the situation
where I felt so unwelcome. The fact you still subscribe to the
newsgroup is what I find odd.

I interpreted her reaction to Bill saying that AOL's message boards are
not Usenet newsgroups.

put their hands on their hips or cross their arms across their chest,
stomp their feet and say, "So there." then they stick out their
tongue and spit at their adversary. That's how Tina sounds to me.

another part about her reply is that although the monitor(ok the real term
is host so from now on im using the right term) can "say" that action will
be taken. the host has no idea what acutally occurs. they never ever get a
report back that action was taken. once the report is sent to the "higher
ups" thats the last the host hears of it. that is meant to keep the host
from being biased to the person who was reported. The host has no idea if
the report was wranted or not. evey time a host goes back to their message
board, chat room, forum. they go in with what AOL calls " smiles from the
hands down". They MUST treat even the chronically mean equally with the
others.

so although she thinks action was taken, chances are it wasnt, secondly the
hosts are trained to give the members a report to make them feel like
everything is in control. that terrorism will no longer return, which is
probably what the comment was meant to imply. what probably happened if
anything at the worst was that the screenname was blocked and no other
action taken. This is the same action taken when someone has an offending
screenname. Believe it or not there are several screennames that are
filtered and not allowed. Im sure Osama Bin Laden@ aol.com was blocked
instantly.... When i was a host i busted a guy for having the screenname
Biatch @ aol.com . I have no idea if the report created action however.

Actually, it's never been answered with other than, "It's already been
answered."

Seems to me you really don't even know yourself WHY you come to this
place at all. You don't seem to have much of a sense of humor much less
any sense. Otherwise you would answer the questions put to you instead
of trying to say " Ask Bret, Ask Troy, Ask whoever " You need to really
seek professional help Tina and I mean that in a good way.
