The homepage should have a URL very familiar to something Macross-y. I
think they should be used, before someone takes Macross terminology and
uses it for a site Macross-unrelated (namely www.macross.com and
www.protoculture.com). So, here's some possibilities:

www.hikaruichijyo.com (or hikaru.com)
www.zentradi.com
www.lynnminmay.com (www.minmay.com was already taken)
www.atariaisland.com (or southatariaisland, or just ataria)
www.dyrl.com

Anyway, my point is that the URL of the homepage ideally should have a
name that is Macross-themed. Also, if it were named after a Macross
character, my suggestion is that it be either Hikaru or Minmay, because
Hikaru was the hero of the original series and Minmay best represents
the Macross series among all of the characters (yeah, I know, I'm
biased, but it's warranted).

P.S. www.guvava.com is a really creative name, but it's run by afm'er
Spencer Miller and W. Lee.

I'm sure you're not meaning to acquire our own Domain name for our web site,
that would be BIG BIG $.

Unless an individual has a serious interest in having the domain name for
themselves and are willing to pay for it personally... we will have to have
a some kind of membership fee... We could just get a free site. I am willing
to sent aside web space for a site. We also must decide on a name finally.

That is what Jeff is suggesting. Internic fee is $200 a year and then we
have to find a network to host the site. Hmmmm....

Doh! I read an ad for registering for your free domain name, looking
for someone who would register them for really cheap or free (as the ad
mentioned). Anyway, it's kind of misleading, so I guess I should just
take it back then.

Which really puzzles me. I see sites that have unique domain names, and
the site doesn't get worked on very well or frequently. Seems like such
a waste.

$200? Who is quoting that? The Internic Fee is currently $70 for 2years.
That is without hosting of course. I'm about to get my own domain name
pretty soon.. hopefully for the anniversary of my site. Here's the page
with Internic Pricing:

BTW, i still think we should name the club "Macross Galaxy Fan
Network".... "International Macross Fan Club" just doesn't... fly. ^_-

Also, if someone can cough up for the domain name, i know a good provider
to handle the space & whatnot...

Dude, get a Canadian domain, getting Macross.bc.ca doesn't cost anything,
you just have to find someone to host it.

Now it's just run by W. Lee, I have dropped support. Besides I am going to
be mighty busy once I get www.dash.bc.ca up and running.

I would be willing to shell some cash out for a Domain name if others would be
willing to help in he endeavor. A domain name will greatly improve not only
our credibility, but alo improve our chances of gaining more membership.
