Imagine a play without words. . . . .

The Silent Theatre Company in association with The Journeymen Theater
Company present L U L U /// Conceived and Directed by tonika todorova,
adapted from the LULU plays by Frank Wedekind.

LULU follows the escapades of the unbearably sexy Lulu, who causes men
and women alike to destroy themselves while pursuing the maddening
passion she inspires. LULU presents its story in complete silence. It
takes the silent film genre, combines with German expressionism, and
portrays it on stage to accent with gesticulation and body language
what words sometimes fail to express.

"The Silent Theater Company of Chicago is dedicated to the idea that
the theater doesn't need the spoken word, which it proves with panache
in its first production, Lulu, an ingeniously staged version of the
Louise Brooks 1929 silent film Pandora's Box. " -- New York Times
