When I decided to make an encoder/decoder for TLKCode I noticed it is A BIT
obsolete. The FCOS is dead, new characters aren't mentioned etc. What about
upgrade? Here changes I think should be made. If you find any mistakes in
my English please correct me. I'm Russian and I'm learning English.

1) A - Fan Art

"A++++ : I'm colorblind and I still draw and color my own pictures" isn't
correct. Only nearly professional artists, not those who can't draw but
draw, should use "A++++". I am colorblind and I do color my pictures, but
"A++++" won't be truthful for me. It should be changed into something like
"Art is my life", like in the Furry Code.

2) D - Digital collection

Original:

D++++ : Can you say "dedicated drive"?
D+++ : The only reason to have a CD burner.
D++ : Can you say "JAZ Drive"?
D+ : Can you say "ZIP Drive"?
D : Over a quarter of my hard drive.
D- : Less than a quarter of my hard drive.
D-- : I'm one of those freaks that uses my computer to work.

Since 1998 year hard drives have grown in size... As ZIP drive is 100 MB or
so (am I right?) "D" and "D-" should be changed into something like "Over
50 MB" and "Less than 50 MB", respectively.

3) C - The FCOS

As FCOS no longer exists this section should be removed.

4) P - Philes

First of all, some people (I know at least one and that's enough ;) ) think
that "nalaphile" isn't the same as "fan of Nala" and because of that don't
add letters, describing which character they are fans of, to the Philes
section. So points like "scarophile" should be changed into just character
names. Thus, for those who aren't somebody-phile it will be possible to
show his likes and dislikes.

New characters should be added: Kiara, Kovu, Zira, Nuka, Vitani, Ma, Uncle
Max. Maybe other characters from TLK should be added too: Banzai, Ed,
Shenzi and Mufasa.

5) T - Transformation

The same with adding new characters.

6) c - Computers.

To be precise, programming isn't the only activity of those who use
computers professionally. Artists, for example, can use computers as much
as programmers. However, the code notes only programming:

c++++ : Name the programming language, dude.
c+++ : I can HTML, CGI, and can JavaScript a web page all one day.
c++ : I surf the web and currently learning to program computers.

I like the "c++++" point of the Geek Code: "I'll be first in line to get
the new cybernetic interface installed into my skull." Formulation of
"c+++" can be changed into "I can forget to eat if I'm in front of
computer" or something like that.

The suffix "n" from "Windows 95/NT" should be changed into "Windows 95 or
higher". Another version is to change it into "Windows 95/98/NT" and add
"x" point with the meaning "2000/ME/XP".

7) l - Likes

There're too less points to choose from. I think the following should be
added: motoring, archaeology, astronomy, biology, geography, drawing, art,
history, culinary art, mathematics, world culture, humanities, museums,
software, fantasy, poetry, programming, journeys, physics, philosophy,
photography, chemistry, economy.

8) F - Forums (new section)

Mailing list isn't the only way to communicate with TLK fans. There're TLK
related forums which pursue the same aim and I think they should be
mentioned in the code too. My formulation is the following (it comes after
"L - The TLK-L" section):

"
The other way to be in touch with other fans of TLK is forums. How often can you be found there?

F++++: I have my own TLK related forum.
F+++: I've registered on almost every forum I found and regularly visit all of them.
F++: I go to more than one forum.
F+: I regularly visit only one forum.
F: I've registered on one but appear on it rarely.
F-: I don't find forums useful.
F--: I was banned from most forums because I can't help finding holes in their protection.
"

My English isn't rich enough, so other formulations are welcome.
-------------
I'm making an offline encoder-decoder for Windows, but with open sources
(C++ Builder). Can anybody help with porting program to other platforms? I
haven't seen any encoder at all, offline or online. I've seen only online
decoder at http://zazu.lionking.org.

Where do TLK fans reside, online I mean? I live in Russia and don't know much about it.

A bit offtopic... Don't you think that this warning is a bit outdate:

"WARNING! The TLK-L is a high-traffic mailing list; its members
often post 60-80 messages per day, and sometimes more. If you feel this is
too much for you or your mailer to handle, PLEASE unsubscribe now at
http://zazu.lionking.org, and consider the "digest" mode of subscription,
which compiles all of a day's posts into one single large mailing sent out
at 2:00 AM."

It doesn't seem to be true now, unfortunately... Sadly I joined TLK fandom
quite late, only year and a half ago or so.

Simple. I converted Nala to the Church of Me, and that was more or
less that.

Mwaha.
