Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Hmm, don't know that I've seen the word ardent used like this before.
Almost sounds like it's a difficult task being an Art Garfunkel fan,
but you keep at it.

What the hey, Steve, according to my dictionary ardent means: having,
expressive of, or characterized by intense emotion; fervent. Synonyms include:
fervid, enthusiastic.
How is that inappropriate?
Didn't say it was inappropriate.

Okay...am I reading you wrong or were you indicating that the word was being
used incorrectly then?
I think Mr. Timko was making a smart ass comment about Art Garfunkel and
his fans (or lack of them).

"Grammar Police"? -- was that an insult or were
you being obtuse again? I've learned my lesson
and I am so ashamed. Forgive me?

You know, I really feel sorry for the person who posted the original note.
If they were new to this newsgroup ,they probably won't be back.
Who wants to be made to feel like an idiot, just because they posted something
about a singer that they like?

Sheesh, this is really getting out of hand. I don't know how to do
damage control on this.
No, I don't count you among the Grammar Police. And I don't think it's
that obtuse. Occasionally we get people correcting other people's
grammar and I suggested that's what you thought I was doing to the
original poster.
Now everyone forget this thread and let's get on with our lives again.
:)
Michael Bolton fans understand that Michael Bolton is going to get
ribbed. So do John Tesh fans. I don't know why ardent Art Garfunkle
fans would be any different. I suspect Art Garfunkle wouldn't be
seriously offended by the comment.

I ardently agree. It's forgotten.
No, but Art Garfunkel might be.
Tell me about it! The same thing happened to me when I proclaimed my ardent
feelings for Boxcar Willy!
