Couple of things here: one night this past week, Dave announced that they had
two reporters standing by in the event of a late-breaking news story...were
these real reporters that the LS snapped up a feed of or a couple of staff
employees enlisted to pose as reporters?...

Also: last night I needed something to watch and popped in the DVD of the movie
"D.E.B.S.", a sort of schoolgirl spoof of Charlie's Angels...the
second-in-command of the bad guys was played by Jimmi Simpson, recognizable to
Late Show watchers as Lyle the Creepy Intern...IMDb shows him with five films in
post-production and one more still shooting....r

Little-known fact: About 2% of the famous
quotations credited to "Anonymous" were actually
originated by Jasper D Anonymous, a 14th-century
maker of carriage wheels.

I don't know, but the female reporter looked familiar.

Perhaps she just reminded me of someone.

I don't know what AWAV means. Is there a FAQ for this ng that I can
refer to for some of the lingo here? If so, can somebody post the
link to it?

That just came up recently. "Anything with a vagina." See the thread
"An Anniversary Today" for the back story.

Maybe...now there is some sort of contest for the best use of the
phrase

If you want to know the history of "AWAV" or the definition of any
term, or anything else about AFL, I've found it useful to search the
AFL archives. That "Anniversary Today" thread was tedious to wade
through, so searching the archives will highlight only those posts
that contain the acronym. You never know what interesting tidbits you
might discover! Then again, you can always ask a question to the
whole ng, but you risk getting a bunch of smart-ass answers.

Kate... always enjoys the smart-ass answers

Yes. As I understand it, Dr. Rod is currently the odds-on favorite to

Speaking of AWAV... Drifty, how long are you going to run this
contest?

It still has several weeks to go, Kath. Dr. Rod is indeed the leader in
the clubhouse. After I mentioned that I would love to get with Pete
Seeger's violinist, he responded with "Anything with a violin."
