OT: Jimmy Kimbal's bite with the snake

During a commercial break on Late Show's Monday's broadcast (May
14th, 2006), right after Kid's, I went over to check out Jimmy Kimbal
and Leno for a minute.
To my surprise, Jimmy was having animals on the show. They brought
out a huge box with a rattle snake in it. During the presentation, the
snake went after Jimmy, bit him in the hand, and they had to stopped
the show to get him medical attention. He was then transported to a
hospital.
I was in such a shock at seeing this, that I forgot to go back to
the Late Show to see the beginning of the William Shatner's interview.
That kind of messed up my taping.
But now, I'm wondering if this was all a gag. It looked real at the
moment. Anyone know anything about this?

Ok, I spelled his name wrong. Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmel.

Seeing as how he was subsequently treated by the medical staff from the
hit TeeVee show "Grey's Anatomy," I'm guessing it was probably staged.

Ok, thanks, Tom. I can't believe I fell for it, but it was a
shocker when I saw it.
Now, this was right after I put the pause button on my recording
Dave. I probably missed a few minutes of the Shatner interview, but I
did get the rest of the (Late Show) program.
My mind was thinking at the time, how are they going to finish the
Kimmel show out. If it was real on Late Show, Dave would've shown a
repeat. They did a good job staging this one.

On Good Morning America they showed a short clip of the "snake" jumping
out of the box and biting Jimmy. I was just rushing around, not really
watching the show at all, until I saw the snake incident. Looked so
real that I stopped to gasp in shock until they took Kimmel to the ER.
Since I had watched Grey's Anatomy last night, I thought the "doctors"
looked strangely familiar. Kimmel was hosting (or maybe he was a guest)
on GMA so he explained that it was a robotic snake and called it a
late, late April Fool's joke.

Jimmy was on Stern's show monday morning, and 'let the snake out of the
bag'. I forgot to tape the tv show. bob
