Given the discussion about Ms. Boyle here a while ago,
I thought this might be of interest to some here.

Here's the link to her downloadable mp3 album:
<http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XSP16A>

and here's the CD:
<http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026P3G12>

I really like her rendition of "Daydream Believer"; certainly worth
$1.29 to download.

The actual CD is cheaper than the mp3 download ($9.99 vs. $10.99).
Individual songs are $1.29.

So, there you have it.

Good lord. Are her 15 minutes up yet? I'll pass.

She actually did a short outdoor concert in Rockefeller Ctr yesterday
(during the Today Show.) I was in the area at the time - she sounded
fabulous! Her rendition of the Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" and her
"Cry Me a River" is also pretty amazing. I'd rather listen to Boyle
than the screeching of most of the other female vocalists popular
these days (and for that matter, most of the musical acts on Dave!)

Thanks to all who mentionned her. Her 15 minutes of fame will be more
like the rest of her life. She doesn't have a voice. She IS a voice.
Great story, great voice. I'm so glad she's singing.

Very unusual woman.

She does sound very young. I'll have to listen to the rest of it when I
have more time, but I really liked the 2 titles mentioned here, a lot.

Could be, but not enough less to make we want to go to Wal-Mart (the
only 'discount' place nearby).

I'll take $9.99 and delivered right to my door any day.

I'm a Costco girl. Just picked up Stephen King's new thousand-plus paged
"Under The Dome." About halfway through and I don't love it. But I love
Costco.

Funny that you mention Ms. Boyle as I was just listening to ringtones
from her album on my iPhone last night. I hate the sounds of all the
default ringtones so I'm selecting individual ringtones for the people
who call me regularly -- if I really like them, that is. "Wild
Horses" is a keeper ($1.29 for the ringtone) -- maybe the best song
from the CD. "Cry Me a River" is also beautiful.
I'm one of those who think Susan Boyle has an unforgettable,
mesmerizing voice, so I preordered her CD from Amazon. The richness of
the lower range of her voice reminds me a little of Karen Carpenter,
particularly in "Daydream Believer" from the CD. She slows the tempo
way down here -- none of The Monkees' perkiness. And for the holidays,
her rendition of "Silent Night" is gorgeous, nearly perfect.

Marilyn says...

Costco sucks. They just opened a mega complex about three blocks from me
and are completely fucking up the neighborhood. Now I get to hear
roaring semis slamming on their air brakes 20 times a night. I hope they
fail miserably so I can get some peace and don't have to move.

People actually pay $1.29 for a ringtone? Why not make your own for
free? Just download the song, pay or pirate (as you wish), then slice it
up with Audacity.

Read the fine print...it's $1.99 per minute and $1.99 per kb.

It adds up.

It's good you don't go out anywhere...what with your ATT connection now.

Don't forget the other 2 important apps...Stanley Level and Bubble Wrap.

You can keep your tape towers plumb and level.

The bubble wrap will strengthen your thumb muscles.

Nice song. It's so nice to see a Chinese woman fencing. Not so long
ago, aristocratic Chinese women had bound feet and could barely walk.
Makes me feel good to see those days are over, and mental and physical
health are encouraged for women. I can sigh happily and say, at least
one beauty aberration is gone for good.

Except for when I wear uncomfortable, too-tight shoes. (Because
they're pretty.)

Gotta stop doing that.
