despite the show schedule change. But in any case, the Pie Committee's
own Pie Machine 3000, the wonder of our new century, is ready to
provide pies and pie utterances worth guessing about. So far, 32
entries have been received and are in it to win it.

Hey Kids,
The 11th Annual Dave's Mom's Thanksgiving Pie
Thanksgiving-Pie-Guessing-Contest is now open.
Unfortunately, the Late Show will not be taping a new episode on or
for
Thanksgiving this year. However, because we care about you, the home
viewer, the Pie Committee will fire up the Pie Machine and hold the
Pie
Contest anyway. It is possible that there will be a remote with
Dave's
Mom earlier in the week (our best guess, if it happens at all, is for
the Wednesday, November 25 show). But then again, we might not see
Dave's Mom at all this year.
So here's the deal. The entry form is in two sections.
1. Guess what pies Dorothy will bake this year for a chance to win
the
Grand Prize if they air a new episode during Thanksgiving week that
reveals Dorothy's pies for this year. You can leave this section
blank
if you want, but we recommend filling it out just in case we do get
to
see Dorothy this year afterall.
2. Guess what virtual pies the Pie Machine will "bake" this year for
a
chance to win the Virtual Prize.
On the entry form you may type in your own picks manually, or let the
Pie Machine guess for you. The Pie Machine has rather quirky taste in
pies, so we highly recommend using machine picks for your Virtual Pie
guesses.
The Grand Prize winner, if there is one, will win a delicious home-
baked
pie made by AFL's resident Pie Goddess, Traci. The Virtual Prize
winner
will receive a package of Moon Pies. If there is no Grand Prize
winner
this year (i.e., no Dorothy-pie-guessing winner), the home-baked pie
will go to the Virtual Winner.
Helen has put some extra time into upgrading the Pie Machine this
year,
and will once again record a screencast video of the festivities. New
this year: the Pie Machine speaks!
