Personally, I'm not getting all fired up about it until Lea has
confirmed it here. I don't trust the media as far as I can throw them.

yipee! just read it myself. Congrats and good luck Lea! Question
though, will you be a fulltime homemaker when you're already Mrs.
Chien? I remember you saying in an interview that since you grew up in
a household where one parent is a full-time one, that's how you would
want your own family to be.

We were thinking another of the Hawaiian islands, but yeah, definitely in
that state. And yes... the engagement news is true. When it comes from my
mom, it has to be, since we were the ones that told her about it.

I read in Working Woman that you had in mind these songs for Martin to sing:
- Beautiful In My Eyes
- I'll Never Say Goodbye
- You Got A Way
- You're Still The One
and
- How Do I Live Without You

If Filipino songs will be sung..."Ikaw" would be very nice... =)

actually, steve had a point there. with due respect, of course, aileen
<wink>
pre-nuptial agreements, especially to someone who has established
significant holdings, can be a very smart move. particularly with
california laws, that is, if one decides to establish residency out here,
one can be left half of what you had or none at all, if a divorce is filed
out here.
unfortunately, these days, no matter how you trust and love someone, if
something doesn't work out, even if both have made huge emotional
investments in the relationship, and even with religion, someone may change
and became the person you fear the most. sad to say, but one must prepare.
that of course, should include a "confidentiality agreement" that should be
attached to the pre-nup document as exhibit a. anyway, let me hush :)

Something you might want to hear about , Lea... in the news last night
(GMA's Saksi), they featured Andrew E.'s son's baptism. Herbert Bautista
was among the guests. They did a 2-in-1 news feature -- the baptism, and
your engagement. They said:

May you have
a blissful, happy family life."

(Herbert Bautista wasn't spared from teasing when Lea Salonga's engagement
to Robert Chien was talked about. Herbert has been linked to Lea before.)

(Herbert said -- It's about time you have a family of your own...)

Ahh, great news! Congrats Lea...happy for you, and it's about time
:). Hopefully someday when your schedule permits, you can have a
child to share your talent with.

I do have one question though, I read the article about the engagement
announcement by your mom and she had mentioned that Rob had told her
that he had gotten you an engagement ring. Just to clarify, did he
ask for her permission or blessing for your hand in marriage or did he
just inform her of the ring? I was rather confused...I know that it
is generally respectful and appropriate for the man to ask the parents
of the woman for their daughter's hand in marriage, but being that he
may have grown up under different circumstances of traditions...can't
really assume. Besides, assuming makes an ASS of U and ME.

Good luck to you both! Best wishes, and a happily ever after
marriage.

He asked for her blessing. He also did tell her that he wanted to get me a
ring... so I guess it was a twofer.

All I can say is that Lea's Mom and Dad look like they are not
in good terms. When Lea says, her Mom "rules" the home, that
doesn't sound good. Ligaya is kind of "dominant". No husband
can take this!! Not good to hear tho' his father is not involved
with Lea's life now. What kind of father is he? Just a shadow under
the heat of the sun????? What a disoriented family!!!
Go Go Ligaya and be happy!!!!

The words "go f*** yourself" have come to mind, but that would imply me
telling her to go have some fun. So, nah.

My life is my life... I didn't choose a lot of it, but I can choose what to

Lea i'm sorry to keep pestering you with thesesimple questions. I can
promise you i am actually quite intelligent but it is different
cultures and traditions and i feel a bit blonde (excuse phrase its the
latest slang again)! Anyways what is a twofer i gather it is something
to do with the ring. However marriage is becoming less important in
tradition these days, no permission is asked and quite often the bride
isn't given away by her father and also white is only popular with
small towns and now its is becoming suits! Anyway see you later
