...and I don't think even Lea knows it.

Towards the last part of the film, Lea's picture is flashed on the
front page of a newspaper. It was a picture taken from Songs From
Home.

I already saw Filipinas, Homecoming, Mano Po 2 and Crying Ladies.
That's it for me. I do not plan to see any of the other films except
Bridal Shower.

The first Capatain Barbel movie is enough for me and I'm not seeing
the remake.

did a good job...People are talking that she deserves an award? I
heard that the film is an unsual non-formula movie kinda like the
independent movies here in US.

Award for the Festival.. Let me know please.!

"Crying Ladies" got the awards for Best Picture and Best Director,
respectively. Sorry, but Maricel Soriano was very fortunate that evening,
she got the best actress plum.

I saw "Sex Drive" with Katya Santos and Maui Taylor over the weekend.
It was nice, but I'd rather watch porn. At least with porn they go all
the way and there's actual penetration so I don't get blue balls.

Although Maricel Soriano won the Best Actress, I think Zsazsa Padilla
did a splendid job in Mano Po 2 and should have won the award over
Maricel Soriano. Sharin Cuneta did a good job as well, although you
get the feeling you're watching a McDo commercial each time she's on
the scene. (Not too mention the shameless product placement of the
producers' principal sponsors.)

I saw it. I was like "LEA!!!!!!!!!!!!" Hehehehehe =)

The remake probably won't be worth it. HELLO!!! The cast alone!!! (with
the exception of Ogie)

Well.. I found it funny. There were lots of funny parts. Sharon was good.
She really is a great actress, whether it's drama or comedy. It was great
how she did the barok Filipino way of speaking (as in Fs become Ps, etc)
without making it "trying hard". She can also pull of being rich (like in
Magkapatid) or poor (like in Crying Ladies). The movie was also good in
terms of editing, cinematography and direction. But script-wise, I found
it... lacking something. Lacking conflict or something. It seemed bitin
(too short).

hmm.. I like Maricel and I think she deserves the award. Hehe. But
yeah, if Maricel wasn't part of the festival, I'd definitely pick
Zsazsa. She was very as in VERY good. Her character was my laughing
machine while watching the movie. I thought her character to be light
and funny although it's the opposite. Maybe that's what she's there
for in the first place-- to give the audience a breath of fresh air
because every character was carrying a heavy load. =D

You know what, I didn't think the product placement of Crying Ladies
was shameless. I thought it was funny and hmm ok, at least for me.
They were like directly endorsing the products using the characters
which I thought was not really impertinent cuz the scenes were still
connected to the story... In the film PANGARAP KO ANG IBIGIN KA, it
was irritating, really irritating. There was a scene in the van where
3 people were talking and one was eating TIMTAM. It looked very
awkward for the character was holding it and was really trying hard
to face the part TIMTAM to the camera. ak. Another, also from that
film, was a camera pan from Nestle Ice cream to the characters.

IMO lang,
jemille =D

Just curious... are you also a KC Concepcion fan? Being the mom's fan, I
would think you also are interested in news and stuff about the daughter...
