Hi everyone-

Just wondering if anyone else has been watching the new show,
"America's Got Talent", that's executive produced by Simon Cowell?
It's a cool show!

Just this past week were the semi-finals and there was a young Filipino
girl in it named Jessica Sanchez. Unfortunately, she wasn't chosen to
continue on into the finals, but I must say for a 6th grader this girl
can REALLY sing...like someone much older than her age. She reminds me
of a young Christina Aguilera, who at an early age could sing and belt
out songs well beyond her years.

I found a link to her website, which contains some popular songs that
she sings. Also, her semi-final performance from "America's Got
Talent" is in it (her performance is also in the "America's Got Talent"
website).

I don't like young girls singing like Aguilera - the don't have their
own music personality so they're want to be little Chrisitnas, Whitneys
and Mariahs. The other day I heard an 11 year old girl named Bianca
from that tv show and I was shocked with how loud she was. She's trying
to torture our ears with her screaming and most people buy it. I can't
see anything moving in screaming like crazy. Mariah damaged her voice,
so did Whitney, Christina's next to follow them. The singers need to
tell the story thourgh the song, not to show-off their range all the
time!

I totally agree. It is a matter of emotions. This is why I never liked these
"stars". Some of them might have a nice voice - but their songs are empty.
They sang them a hundred times in the studio and the producer took the
clearest version - or cut it just as needed...

These singers do not really know how to transfer emotions, nor do producers
care. Just listen to Christina singing Reflection. All she does is
concentrating on her voice, trying as hard as she can to succeed with that
"difficult" song that is supposed to sound so easy...

She does not even recognize the words she is singing. Besides the pity I
feel for her, torturing her voice like that, there is nothing else to feel.

Then listen to the "real princess" and every word gets directly deep into
your heart...

Give these kids a small role to play, somewhere at a theatre to gain
experiences in acting and singing. Let them find their own way to success.
Stop making them "Christina" like starlets ruining their lifes for a short
moment of popularity.
