FOR LEA, Questions from Japan

I am new here. My name is Yuko. I'm Japanese and a postgraduate
student majoring in Art History. And of course I am an ardent Lea fan.
I'm very glad to join this group.
Lea, I am deeply impressed by not only your beautiful voice and
wonderful career, but also your professionalism, quality work,
intelligence, sincerity, humility, unaffected personality, great sense
of humor, strong belief and attitude of always doing your best. This
is why you are my role model. I am really really proud to be the same
Asian woman.
I have some questions, Lea.
(1) I read a transcript of your past chat session in which you said
that the last time you were in Japan was when you were around 10 or 11
and on stopovers for flights.
Since the chat session, have you been to Japan?
And any plan to travel to Japan in the future?
There are a lot of your fans in Japan. PLEASE Please please do
concerts in Japan!
(2) As mentioned above, my major is Art History. I was wondering if
you were interested in fine arts.
If so, who is your favorite artist?

I haven't been to Japan since the chat... it would be nice to visit, maybe
with my fiancé. He's never been (and he's half-Japanese) so it would be
good for him to go.

1913, and now 90 years old. I have ever seen her paintings at a
gallery. She paints abstract paintings by brush and Chinese ink.

"-chan" to someone's name? Is "-kun" for guys and "-chan" for girls?

Generally, We use "-kun" for boys and "-chan" for girls when children
call to each other and when grown-ups call to children. I mean we
attach "-kun" or "-chan" to child's name. But if we are very close, we
use them among grown-ups. It depends on their relationships.
We also use "-kun" for both men and women at the national assembly.
e.g. when the chair calls members of the Diet. It's a custom of
Japanese assembly.

By the way, why you know earthquake in Japan? Do you live in Japan?
If so, how do you get informations about Lea? Of course, this
newsgroup is really useful, exciting and cool. :) But we have few
magazines with articles about Lea and no commercial on TV in Japan.
What a shame! :'( The access to informations about Lea is limited in
Japan. I envy those who live in the Philippines and the US. :)

i miss earthquakes. i mean, not the disaster type of course, but
those small tremors that occurred regularly when i was growing up (my
hometown doesn't get typhoons like manila does, but we do get
earthquakes a lot).

No, I live near Seattle, in the US. But I watch NHK TV alot via satellite.

I get all my information from this newsgroup. I'm still waiting for Lea
to come perform in Seattle. I have a feeling you'll see her in Tokyo
before I see her here :)

LOL! I remember that time I last felt an earthquake. That was during
finals week, more than a month ago. I was studying at 6.30 AM, and since I
really lacked sleep, I thought it was just my eyes/vision doing that shaky
thing, and that I was just dizzy. But I noticed that the curtains were
swaying. So I realized it was an earthquake. I texted my other friend who
I knew was also up, studying, and who lived nearby, asked her if she felt
that, and she said yes.

I was in my aunt's house after school (I think... what time was the
earthquake?), waiting to go out for dinner or some meal (I don't really
remember) because it was her birthday.
