Yep, I'm getting them too. Scanning the puter comes up with zero viruses,
but this weekend's project is to get to the bottom of it. Run patches from
Microsoft's website only to be safe. This way you know it's the real deal.

My Norton is picking up the the virus on those e-mails and I quarantine
them. For me the Microsoft patch e-mails are followed by message
undeliverable e-mails.
Yes! I had been wondering about whether I should open the emails and
download what's in them, but I haven't. I just deleted them all. It's
freaky. I don't know if it's a hoax or what.

I've received more than twenty...geez. I deleted them all. I tried to
open one of them, but my PC gave a warning that it had a virus.
So...yep, guess they're just viruses.

and deleting it too. Like, 16 messages!! Oh well. as long as it's ignored!~

Count yourself lucky. I have 228, an average of one every half hour for the
past five days. It seems to have peaked, though.

Three valid e-mail addresses that I've been posting to various newsgroups,
e-mail lists and websites for about five years. (Before that, I was on AOL;
that e-mail is still separate.)
A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive ever! This virus was discovered
yesterday afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine has yet ! been developed.
This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital
information for its functioning are stored.
This virus acts in the following manner: It sends itself automatically
to all contacts on your list with
the title "A Card for You".
As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened, the computer freezes
so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the
reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus
permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours
this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by
CNN. This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.
So don't open any mails with subject: "A Virtual Card for You."
As soon as you get the mail, delete it!! Even if you know the
sender!!!
Please pass this mail to all of your friends.
Forward this to everyone in your address book. I'm sure most people,
like myself, would rather receive this notice 25 times than not at
all.
> Any of you received in your emails from Microsoft with an attachment
> which was supposedly a patch you should run?
GRRRRR!!!!!!! I've gotten lots of it, too!!!!!!!! =\ =\ =\
It keeps filling up my junk mail folder, causing my hotmail account to
always go to "acount size critical: you may not be receiving all your
messages" etc etc etc!!!!! ANNOYING!!!!!!!!
