I saw the Aladdin show (again) in Disney's california adventure
and if I'm not mistaken, the new Princess Jasmine is Jennie Kwan who also did
Miss Saigon and that teeny bopper tv show California Dreams.

If it was her... I'm definitely not impressed. Her vocals were not as strong
as you'd think of someone who was in a lead role in a major musical.
She sounded very very amateur.

I saw Dee Dee Magno in that role not too long ago and she was pretty good.
Has Lea mentioned here if she's seen the show?

I saw Orville (whose I Enjoy Being A Genie -- sung to the tune of I Enjoy
Being A Girl -- made me howl so loud that afternoon) and Cedric (whose voice
I thought was hella good). I didn't see Nick.

The show is cute... very enjoyable and a lot of fun. It was more fun for me
to see friends onstage. That made it for me.

I could be wrong but, I don't think Jennie Kwan is with the show anymore.
When she was, her vocals were very strong but, her acting was not so great.
There are three different Jasmine's I have been seeing lately. Two have
great vocals and one is a little weaker. She does resemble Jennie Kwan, but
it is not her. Of course, Jennie could still be in the show but, I really
think she left.

Thanks for the info Jen

Like I said I wasn't sure if it was Jennie Kwan or not but it did look like her
and this was only last wednesday (16th??)

Dee Dee was impressive.
The guy who played Aladdin was good except that he looked too asian. And I
didn't mean anything bad by that (hello I'm Asian too) but he just didn't look
the part but acted and sang well.

I actually prefer Roxanne Taga's Jasmine at California Adventure. She
played a feistier Jasmine, just like the cartoon. But that Filipino Genie
was sure hilarious! Particularly when he sang "I Enjoy Being a Girl" when
he popped out of the lamp.

I agree. I have seen all of the Jasmines and Roxanne's performance was
definitely the best among all of them. She had a great way of acting and
re-acting to others on the stage while most of the other Jasmine's just act
out their lines.

I only saw Roxanne... I think it was her last day as Jasmine, and I thought
she was great. The bling she wore on her finger was pretty cool, too.

Lea,

I agree..when she showed me that ring I almost fainted. It was not only huge
but gorgeous! It was her last day performing. Sadly, I was on a plane
heading to the East Coast. My boyfriend got to see the show though.

Lea, Roxanne's bling wasn't as big as yours ;) But both yours and Rox's
were quite blinding. Anyway, FYI...she is due next month or may have
already given birth. I'll check on it.
