For myself, I don't mind a bit! Considering you're the author of all these
Tales of The Croft, you're not gonna be viewed as a know it all or pompous.
Especially since they're all enjoyable stories. :-D
McG.
Have at it!
Frankly, I've always felt that you don't say much about the stories themselves.
Other than the odd comment about how you could have done better on this, or
want to change that.
Frankly, I'd love a peek into that imagination of yours! So, count me in.

You can't blame HIM for that! Google groups would be the problem, not GS!
If you don't have them, and GS gives me permission to, I can zip up and
email the entire set I have to you. What I have saved is both .nws and .txt
of each post, from Outlook Express. It's total is less than 7 megs zipped.
GS, what say you?
McG.
Thanks! Now he needs to show up again :-p

Write? More? YES! Please DO! I write and post this on 12 July 2011, I
see two other posts for the year 2011 in here. Even if only once a year,
would it be ok to see ALL your stories posted here? I'm sure I still have
the set zipped up someplace. Most of them are simply .NWS files saved right
from OE. I think some of the earliest stories were saved as .TXT's.
Rats. My bad.
But, how about it GS? :)

You're writing fiction? Cool! Regular posters. I'm pretty sure you'll
remember some of the old gang from say 2000 to 2007. Me, Gary Mitchell,
Gordian Slash, Dungeonbunny, Tom Braider, Silver, Mustang, Pistol Whipped,
Sascha, (Izzy of course!), Womb Raider, Rex Reynolds AND Arthur to name a
few. :-)
Great to see a familiar person here, in THIS year!

Sorry to report, but we lost one of those old Tombies, Izzy. Tom Braider
passed on recently. May 24, 2011.

Really sorry to hear about, TB. I've had someone close to me die in the last
year, so I know how tough it can be.
Would be really good to see some more chat in here - catch up with some of
the old familiar faces and find out what everyone's up to now - apart from
playing TR, of course.
As for the fiction, I sort of lucked out. I sold my first book at the end of
2005 (which tells me just how long it is since we've posted here on a
regular basis!) and I'm just about to start my 14th. I write humorous,
contemporary love stories. Thought about trying my hand at a Lara story,
but I can't seem to write that dark, and since I wouldn't know one end of a
gun from the other, I'm not sure it would be very convincing. ;-) Love
reading it, though.

Izzy,
I think a Lara Croft short, humorous love story would be interesting. It most
certainly doesn't have to be that dark.
There are certainly enough holes in Lara Croft's background that she could
have a boyfriend or two (or knowing her, probably several) hidden in the
cracks of her life.
And it doesn't have to be a dark story at all. Yes, Lara's life has gone more
toward the dark, but I bet her earlier life wasn't that way at all. I bet she
grew up at least a little like other girls, with a few crushes and sporadic
loves thrown in. And even in her current, darker life, we never hear about
what she does between Raids.
Thinking a little (only), I'd think a short love story about her high school
or college life would be interesting.
An amateur, fan (so you don't need to worry about copyrights) short story that
comes to mind that would work well would be something like a Disastrous Prom
Night. It could be told from her first-person perspective, or from his.
Obviously, this would not work for a book-length story. But it would be
interesting enough for a short story.

Well now, seems you could give Our Lady of Perpetual Gunfire, wearer of The
Divine Ponytail, Lara Croft something us guys haven't really managed at all.
And the closest Core Design ever did was have a tiny bit of a flirt with
Larson while he was introducing Jaqueline Natla to Lara via a laptop.
Ahhhh just thinking about it makes me want to hear that CD spin up and that
Intro cutscene play again! Now where was I? ROMANCE! Yeah, you could
go even further than Gordian Slash did for Christmas last year! I still owe
him a Lara sprinting for the Mansions indoor pool in a Mistletoe Green micro
bikini picture. Winston's Christmas pressie? Well, *Romance* is really
just another sort of Adventure! Humorous, contemporary and Love . . .
yes! LOVE! Even Love has a place in Lara's life. :-) Seeing that Core
actually gave us the barest thinnest beginnings of that with Larson (why
couldn't it have been *PIERRE* ?!?! Naw, it had to be LARSON!)
So you write love stories. Can you write a little one for Lara? Please?
:)
McG.
I shall let the idea simmer on the backburner, McG! I have two books to
deliver before 1st Feb, neither of which I've started, and a short story (my
first since high school!) to write as a promotional thingy. Time is short!
And a killer idea for a Lara story wouldn't be bad thing, either. I shall
let my subconscious play with the idea while the rest of my brain gets on
with the other stuff. The prospect of writing something for fun that
doesn't have a deadline attached is strangely appealing...
Hopefully, we will have plenty of other Lara fanfic to digest while I
procrastinate about my efforts.
Gordian Slash?! Where are you?
