Hello, can anyone direct me to an online review/rating, etc for the Range
Rover Classic(1995) in regards to the high standard of building/reliability?
Would be very helpful in convincing my other half that this is the right
purchase for me. Thanks!

Have A 1995 LWB Rangie. 105,000 miles. No problems except to replace the
starter. Still looks, drives, handles on and off road like new. Would buy
another one if they still made it.

akin to the length of a piece of string it will depend on how the motor has
been serviced (if at all) ensure you get a full service history, the
problems I have had with Peggy (89 vogue SE) are purely down to not being
properly serviced by the previous owner( allegedly by ex-main agent
mechanics!!!) as I get on with her she gets better and my enjoyment of a
superb motoring experience increases. You are buying a car of character like
nothing else I have driven and owned a good few 4x4s ( and dozens of 2wd)
but nothing has come close to the Range Rover for comfort ability and even
the smell when you open the doors (guess who got leather then?) if you get
the model with air suspension get it checked thoroughly first I have been
advised it is expensive if faulty and not really a diy job . Parkers guide
give a fair review but check the owners comments also

and of course Landrover owner international http://www.lromagazine.com/ have
much to say about the car nearly all good and they reckon it is one of the
best buys about -(until Quentin Wilson blabs) the website is

I'll second this, I also had to replace a starter on mine, ('94 SWB 90,000
miles) other than that no problems, just get the servicing done regularly,
look after it and it will look after you for a long time. I wish they still
made them, I am keeping hold of mine for as long as I can as I can't think
what I would replace it with.

Well, it looks like I'm on the right track then, cause I had to replace the
starter the first day I owned the vehicle(yesterday), but I love the RR
other than a few little electrical "weirdness"(like the seat control and
power mirror control doesn't work unless the driver door is open. and I
can't get the cruise control to work, even though the guy I bought it from
swore that it worked.

oh well...I sure enjoyed her today

Check the vacuum line running to the manifold/control unit for the cruise.
Probably a split line....I've fixed that twice on the 95 LWB

For the door open problem, do you have the memory seats?
