Dogs in Hot Defender CSW

My previous Defender had flaps and factory fit sunroof.
Never had a problem with leaks but from comments in here a while ago
people had problems with after market fits.
Any other ideas on how to secure the vehicle with dogs inside and good
ventilation. The window grills all seem to fit on the inside, denying
access to the side window fasteners.
