Can anybody please tell me what the tyre pressures for a 1985 Classic
should be? Standard 205/16 tyres. Is there an owners handbook available
anywhere on the net?

Thank you

I can not help for a 1985 Classic specifically but the Land Rover Experience
book (first edition 1993, page 114) states the following for the RaRo
Classic
Michelin 205R 16 XM+S244 TL and GoodYear Wrangler 205 R16 tyres
Hard road front axle 1.9 bar, rear axle 2.1 bar.
Tracks and poor roads (up to 40 mph maximum speed) front axle 1.6 bar, rear
axle 1.9 bar
Off road emergency flotation (up to 12 mph maximum speed) front axle 1.2
bar, rear axle 1.2 bar

hope this helps and Happy New Year
Pantelis

25 psi front, 35 psi rear should be about right.

I've got an owners handbook of about the right year
if you want it.

On or around 05 Jan 2004 20:02:27 GMT, m0...@aol.com (M0bcg) enlightened us
thusly:

that's what I run on the disco. But it ain't what the book says. However,
tyre wear seems to indicate that I'm right and the book's wrong.

Thanks for the help.

I have been running them at about 3 bar because we had a full load with
roof tent and fridge etc on gravel roads. The tyres claim their max load
is at 3.5 bar (Michelin). I am allergic to Michelin ( vehicle came with 5
of which I have shredded 3 - always on the rear) Tending towards
Bridgestones since they have a greater load rating - 108 as opposed to
the 104 of the Goodyears and Michelins.

Nick, Thanks for the offer of the handbook. Would be appreciated. How
would you send it? Scan and email?

I was thinking more of just posting the whole thing.

Let me know your address and I'll out it in the post.
