Does anyone have any idea what are suitable tyre pressures?

I know that there are a lot of variables, tyres, use, etc. But I have no
idea for even an approximate value.

I have a 1980 Series 3, with the standard wheels, no freehubs, road tyres,
used primarily for road use, but with the occasional off road track.

I bought a Haynes Manual for this information and I cannot find the info in
it, are the Clymer manuals any better?

Thanks

Simon

My landrover manual says:
SWB front on 6.00 to 7.50 x16 and 205 x16 25psi
SWB rear on 6.00 to 7.50 x16 30psi
swb rear on 205x16 35psi
lwb on 750 x 16 front 25psi rear 36psi
lwb 1 ton on 900x16 front and rear 20psi

I used to run my swb at about 30-35psi all round on 205x16 tyres

I know it sounds daft but the obvious place to check these tyre pressures is
in the genuine Land Rover Series 111 Owners manual. All is explained on page
160. A wealth of info.
Obtain a manual publication number AKM8155 (edition 3) from the Series 111
Owners Club. Holly Street Cannock 9.95 uk pounds I think. Well worht having
a copy.

Also be sure to read what the tyre manufacturer has to say. They normally
know a bit about it. I have a new set of Dunlops on my Disco at 35 psi for
the road (40 for long trips) and I normally let them down about 5 pounds for
light off road stuff.
