DEAR SIRS,

I AM ANTHONY PETER LUCKWILL, A FORMER RESIDENT OF THE TOWNSHIP OF CLONDALKIN
IN COUNTY DUBLIN, AND I WRITE TO YOU IN STRICT CONFIDENCE TO INFORM YOU OF
A LUCRATIVE PROPOSAL.

I AM A AUTHOR OF INTERNATION RENOWN, AND A HIGHLY REGARDED PHOTOGRAPHER AND
EXPERT ON THE LAND ROVER DISCOVERY, AND FOR SEVERAL YEARS RAN A NUMBER OF
VERY SUCCESSFUL LAND ROVER CLUBS IN THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
WITH MY ASSOCIATES MR. BARRY POTTERTON, MR. MATT GAULT, MR. JOHN STANSFIELD
AND OTHERS. THE OUTSTANDING SUCCESS OF THESE LAND ROVER CLUBS AROUSED THE
JEALOUSY OF CERTAIN LAND ROVER ENTHUSIASTS IN GREAT BRITAIN WHO STARTED A
CAMPAIGN TO IMPUGN MY REPUTATION.

THIS THEY DID BY CLAIMING THAT MY TASTEFUL COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUNG
NUDES WERE INFACT CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. AS A RESULT I WAS ARRESTED BY GARDA
SIOCHANA (IRISH POLICE) AND TAKEN TO THEIR HEADQUARTERS AT HARCOURT SQUARE
IN DUBLIN WHERE I WAS SUBJECTED TO REPEATED INTERROGATION AND THEN PLACED
UNDER HOUSE ARREST. I FORTUNATELY MANAGED TO FLEE THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
AND FOUND A SAFE HOUSE IN THE VILLAGE OF LLANDYSUL IN SOUTH WEST WALES, IN
THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITIAN AND NORTHERN IRLAND. HOWEVER THE SCOUNDRELS
WHO HAD BEEN HARRASSING ME STEPPED UP THERE CAMPAIGN AND I WAS AGAIN ARRESTED,
THIS TIME BY THE BRITISH POLICE, AND WAS TRIED AND CONVICTED ON BOGUS AND
TRUMPED UP CHARGES. HOWEVER THEY AGAIN FAILED TO HAVE ME LOCKED UP.

THE LATEST STAGE OF THEIR CAMPAING IS THAT THESE SAME INDIVIDUALS ARE STILL
VICIOUSLY ATTACKING ME BY MEANS OF A WEBSITE AND NEWSGROUP POSTINGS. IT IS
MY INTENTION TO INSTIGATE PROCEEDINGS THROUGH THE BRITISH COURT SYSTEM ON
ACCOUNT OF THEIR SCURRILOUS INNUENDO, AS A RESULT OF WHICH I WILL BE ABLE
TO GAIN CONSIDERABLE REPARATIONS.

MY PROPOSAL TO YOU IS THAT IF YOU WILL ASSIST ME WITH MINOR LEGAL EXPENSES
I WILL REPAY YOU WITH 30% OF THE COMPENSATION I RECEIVE FROM THESE SPITEFUL
AND MALICIOUS LAND ROVER OWNERS IN ENGLAND. I HAVE NO DOUBT YOU WILL BE EXCITED
BY THIS SURE-FIRE 100% RELIABLE PROPOSAL. TO THAT EXTENT WOULD YOU PLEASE
FORWARD DETAILS OF YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, FAX NUMBER AND BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS
TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS K_...@APL.ME.UK.

IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THIS PROPOSAL I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU CAN
PASS IT TO A ONE OF YOUR BUISNESS ASSOCIATES.

SINCERELY YOURS

HARRY H.

FFS! This is in very bad taste. Why don't you just join a bunch of
pitchfork and flaming torch waving morons and storm his castle? This
sort of nonsense does not help the situation, in some cases it can make
things worse - if we extend nothing but hatred towards wrongdoers then
why should they not return it ten-fold? Ever thought about WHY someone
does something? It must be so nice to sit in your ivory tower of
normality and spit on those floundering near the base.

Attn: Mr Luckwill/Haynes/whoeveryouare - I'm not on your side and I
don't condone the acts of which you are accused but this sort of
pathetic jumping-on-the-bandwagon hatred just gets my goat.

Yes - it's been known for a while & from several other threads (which people
probably got bored of) that Tony was posting under the name Harry Haynes.

denied, but like all liars do, he was caught out by signing a message
supposed to be from Harry Haynes as Llandrovers.

those nigerians are incredible. they have whole colleges set up to train
people in scamming naive whiteys. and the government is in on it all. read
some statistic that 70% of nigerias GDP comes from these scams. i reckon
it's absolutely marvelous. that's how we should solve world poverty. train
all the africans to scam money out of us.

Never believe the gutter press then?

Nigeria is the biggest population country in Africa, some 110,000,000
souls with a GDP of around £25 billion per year, of which about £10
billion is oil, exported mostly to the USA. According to the 'Economist
World in Figures' 75% of GDP is from agriculture and industry,
including oil and the rest is services, I guess a tiny proportion of
which may actually be crime and fraud. It is true that high level
corruption is endemic. However it's astonishingly 'up front' there,
whilst corruption of exponentially greater value occurs in the UK but is
covered up with infinitely more sophistication. See 'Liechtenstein' for
more info.

Of course, just because they have a Nigerian address does not mean they are
Nigerian, or even in Nigeria. Two days ago a number of Australians in this

the end of it - it seems to be an extensive industry, with possibly
hundreds of operators.

Two days ago a local from the township of Dubbo in NSW Australia was arrested
for being involved in a Nigerian scam. His personal wealth was estimated to be
5 - 6 million $AU. A local business man lost 800.000$AU to the scheme and an
Arabian Sheik lost money in it as well. Don't know how much. It shows that
greed can cause many problems.

As I said - just because the address is Nigeria doesn't mean the operators
are there or from Nigeria. (I live close to Dubbo, so I heard the local
connection on the local news)

too bloody right. Greed on the part of the people who're daft enough to
fall for it. I guess that thing about a fool and his money... is true.

Basically, AFAICS, any scheme that pops up from no-where purporting to give
you several million bucks for doing basically nothing is too good to be
true.

There was a bit in a comic show on the TV ages back, tramp-looking bloke
asked city gent type that question, "sorry, I only carry credit cards" -
"Thass OK," quoth the tramp-type, hauling out a then-normal clatchety-clack
credit card machine from under his coat.
