PSI World was based originally in California. Wilheit was involved in
Mind Dynamics with John Hanley of Lifespring and Werner Erhard of
est/Werner Erhard & Associate's Forum and still receiving a licensing fee
for his technology from the corporation he then sold to his brother and
other employees -- Landmark Forum. Others who were also involved and
later went off and got their own organizations started were: Alexander
Everett (Complete Centering), Randy Revell (Context Trainings), Stewart
Emery (Actualization), Howard Nease (Personal Dynamics, and Jim Quinn
(Lifestream). Are they related? Well it seems to me that there are
certainly no corporate links, there were at some point in time some
sharing of personnel between some of those organizations and certainly a
similarity in the technology used in all of them...while some have a
"spin" from other disciplines the individual was also involved with.

How dare you pick on poor little Carol!
After all she's been through.
Have you no shame?
What gives you the right to point out that Carol is as blind as a mole to
her own horse punky? Don't you know that she has transcended the mind
control of the Hunger Project, where incidentally, she personally
enrolled ten thousand people (yes 10,000 by her own acounting) into the
Hunger Project.
Why Carol would never plant a spin in her messages, she is miles above
that kind of behaviour.
LilVoysOva, I want you to know that Carol Giambalvo is an unmatched
paragon of virtue in this world. She is free from any such predjudice or
desire for revenge and untainted by mind numbing "memes".
Matter of fact, she has since dedicated her life to counseling others to
be as free and clear as she is.(can you imagine that?)
What have you done lately????????
Butt that's my opinion.....
and you remember what I said about opinions, don't you....

Well, Duh!
I'm the author of the original post. By "related" I meant, is PSI the same
company as Landmark (a corporate name change), a spinoff, coverup, or
directly-influenced decendant of Erhard's Landmark Forum?
I have a friend that's involved with PSI. She wants me to take the
seminars. I went to their "Business Leader's Presentation" and thought it
all sounded just a little fishy.
During the presentation, they said PSI had been around for 23 years,
offered their training to Fortune 500 companies and the US Military, and
were the largest company of their type. But a thorough search of the
Internet and various magazine and newspaper indexes proved that there are
very few articles about this company. People that I know who deal in
corporate education for a living have never heard of them.
The description of the Landmark Forum seminars is almost identical to the
description of the PSI seminars...so I was wondering if perhaps Landmark
got some bad press and they changed the name to PSI.
Thanks,
Les
PS. She's not a friend anymore. I determined this last week that her
interest in me was solely to recruit me into this organization.
From what I know of the two organization, there are separate and
distinct having little in common. Even the "technology" is vast
different and addresses different issues. These are difinitely
different organizations, entirely.

When you on a fishing boat, everythings smells a little fishy [:-D].
If it sounds to good to be true, then they are probably right.

This is true of thousands of training and develoment companies (or
companies in any industry for that matter). Fact is, they are neither
the bigggest, the best orthe most often used. The fact that there is
little information available on them is curious however. I am in the
corporate training business and know a lot about Psi, est, Landmark and
lots of other companies, it is my business to know the competition,
their capabilities and limitations.
People that I know who >deal in corporate education for a living have
never heard of them.
Tell them to bone up on the competition!

After a while, they all sound alike becuase they are selling "client
benefits" and a going after the same potential customers. Further, the
fact that Lamndmark and others have endured some bad press does not by
itself nullify/invalidate the quality of the services they provide.
While there are many who say that got little if anything from these
courses, there are many times more who say they did. Taking their
programs is an individual value-judgement.

Maybe your friend is talking about PSI as related to "Remote Viewing"
technology. Check out these sites. Maybe you'll find the answer here.
PSI Tech--http://www.transition-3000.de/psitech/pt-home.html
Farsight Institute--http://www.mindspring.com/~farsight/
Or if you want a link to give you some background on the subject,
try--http://www.io.com/~hambone/web/index.html
Remote viewing has been around for about 25 years in the military so
maybe this is what your friend was speaking of. For the scoop on Ingo
Swann, the person who trained the original 6 military remote viewers,

Maybe you shouldn't have given up on your "friend" so easily. Duh.
Peace.

Marcus, on the basis of the name of the course mentioned, you've obviously
identified exactly which "PSI" organization is being referred to. Could
you tell us a bit about them, the full name that PSI stands for, and if it
is in fact an organization founded by one of the people involved with with
Mind Dynamics (along with Werner Erhard, as Carol suggested).
Thanks,
JP

I believe the the name(s) you are looking for is Tom Whilhite. He was
involved with Mind Dynamics and a follower of William Penn Patrick who
was a wealthy businessman who was widely respected for his
self-determination, persistence and innovativeness (rags to riches
story).
Penn Patrick is the major influence here, not Werner Erhard, John
Hanley or Alexander Everett and the rest of the Mind Dynamics crew.
This is about as much as I know.
