For those who may be interested...

http://www.utwatch.org/archives/polemicist/vol3no5_rc.html

I was involved with RC in the 50-60's until I broke away. I knew
Jackins. He had previously been employed by Dianetics Institute of
Seattle and subsequently parted relations with Hubbard's organization.
Discovering that he had been a Communist Party member, I severed my
connections with him, partly because I held military security
clearances. And, because, I couldn't see dumping more money into the
organization.

I knew Shirley Siegel, who later blew the whistle on Jackins.

Hi Ben,

Looking back were there any positives that you can tell us about.

Interesting times though.

I remember in the late 60's falling into a Dianetics group and doing
some of those group communication exercises
such as bull-bating. I somehow drifted out of the organisation but
never had any bad experiences.

Can't say I got much out of it apart from growing up a little.

Regards bruno

Hi bruno,

Good to hear from you.

I can't directly address the Dianetic's techniques.. only read about
them. RC didn't use the processes you mentioned.

I think the RC co-counseling process came out of the "auditing"
process of Dianetics. Is was essentially having a person repeatedly
scanning their history, looking for "flags" that indicate a painful
experience. Once identified, the person was coached to repeatedly
re-experiencing the event. The goal was to have all the "charge" on a
painful experience be discharged through emotional crying, yelling,
etc, etc. The form of discharge was all over the map and was often
quite dramatic. Often the "counselor" would get their own "stuff"
re-stimulated to the point that they needed a session with a staff
counselor. The trick for co-counseling was to link up with a mutually
effective partner.

So, yes, there were some good results from RC, and I still use the
techniques whenever someone among my family and friends need support.

The downside was that the process was lengthy, and staff
(professional) counseling was pricey. Given the mass of pain
experience in a lifetime, the process would take forever, ensuring the
financial future of RC.

Being a guy, I wasn't aware of Jackin's shenanigans with the women
clients. I did note that the co-counseling process could lead to
inappropriate intimacy. I had a couple close calls, but didn't
imbibe. Given the way my marriage ended some years later, I often
regretted that I didn't imbibe. :)

One of the main benefits of the est training was that I could bypass
all those hours and hours of processing-out victim-ness (as well as
reading all those self-help books) and just take charge and get on
with the rest of my life. Besides, the trainingg only cost $300 with
far better results, where the $8000+ I spent for my (now-ex) wife and
myself, got marginal, if not negative, results.

After the training, I declared, "Damn, now I can throw away my library
of self help books!" :) Too, bad I couldn't get the $8000 back......

Funny that Ben about "imbibing"

Looking back I would have also liked to imbibe more often but did
not take the opportunity at the time .

cheers Bruno

Interpretation: the rosenbergist cultropreneurs failed to ~transform~
your ~integrity~ and ~responsibility~ to the point of imbibing, Bruno.

Not at all my dear Muse your thinking path is once again in the
heavens
with your spirit friends.

Looking back "when I thought and felt I had a chance of imbibing "
and failed to take advantage of that opportunity mainly because of
lack of
confidence or a stupid ethical code which I must have foolishly
believed at
the time.

Thats all fair Muse.

No Rosenberg add ons needed.

You really like Werner don't you Muse???
Maybe since Ben knew him he could arrange a private tete a tete??

I bet you are sweating all over just thinking about that encounter!!!!
He is a bit moth eaten these days but he still may have some time for
you Serena.

I'll talk to Ben about it.

Sleep well fair Muse

cheers from down south.

I didn't know I had a "thinking path" I wonder what color paving it
has...

Where does that quote come from, Bruno?

Oh, so this all happened before rosenbergism gifted you with the
~choice~ of ~transformation~ into self-confidence and ~creating~ you
own "stupid ethical code" ? -- You didn't make that clear, Bruno.

That right-wing Argentino I came across last millenium? -- Not
particularly.

How rash a bet would you make?

Remember how you claimed you could spot ranterdom in my face (the one
you've never seen)? How goes the explanation of how a face expresses
ranterdom, Bruno?

By all means. First things first:

Where does your quote "when I thought and felt I had a chance of
imbibing " come from ?

Then after you've answered that we can move on to the next issue:
whether your "imbibing" ~story~ took place before rosenbergism gifted
you with the ~choice~ of ~transformation~ into self-confidence and
~creating~ your own "stupid ethical code" ...

> Do you want a tete a tete meeting with Werner or not???
> Ben could possibly arrange it???

A mere ~possibility~... Let's concentrate (first things first) on the
source of your actual quote: "when I thought and felt I had a chance
of imbibing ".

> I can feel the steam coming out of your gills!!!!!!!

If we hadn't agreed to discuss one thing at a time, I'd ask about the
pH of the steam that you can feel.

Slipperily
Serena
