I figured I'd post this here since the bastards on the MTV newsgroup never
reply to anything :)

Does anyone know where the MTV Beach House is located in San Diego, and whether
or not you need reservations to show up, or if you can just go down there and
get on camera.. I'm thinking about going to check it out if they ever have
someone cool appearing live on TRL.. I know that show specifically airs live
from 12-1:30 our time.. in fact today there were people on the beach who didn't
even know they were on tv, so it shouldn't be too hard to get on camera..

So, once again.. does anyone know the address of the beach house?

I've been told it is in Mission Bay, near the roller coaster. I do not have a
specific address, but I plan to go down there this month with a friend who
knows the area. I am assuming that it will not be too hard to find since MTV
now always tries to situate itself in the center of attention (Times Square
Studios in NY). But when I find out the address, I'll post it.

Are you youthful and attractive? Otherwise they'll shoot you in the
head... or not let you on camera. Whichever they choose.

Don't know the address, but another poster says it's near the rollercoaster at Mission BEACH (not
Bay) - - south Mission for locals.

As for reservations, when they had the beach house at the old Marineland in Pacific Palisades, I
went. They had a number you needed to call to get on the parking list. I guess if you just show up
and they like your "look", then it'd be no problem. They had us do some really lame scripted bits
because the palisades really isn't a summer hotspot besides being a good location for cameras. It
wasn't really all that great and I'm not even sure why I went (bored I guess). Carson Daly was
there "trying out" for MTV while he was still at kroq.

Also, nothing on MTV ever airs live (except the awards shows, but only live on the east coast).
If I recall, most MTV live-on-tape programming has about a 4-5 day turnaround.
