I agree with some of you who find that Pat Hawk did a good job at the Wildlife
Concert, you couldn't have said it better!!! I am listening to the Wildlife
Concert CD through my PC as I am writing this.
I find nothing wrong with Pat's performance in the concert, I thought she did
an even better job on the "Wild Montana Skies".
I can't sing all that good, but if I could and it was me up there on that stage
with John, I'd be dancing too!!! Not only that, I'd probably reach over to
GRAB John to dance with me too!!! LOL
I get carried away with his music especially with "Eagles And Horses", it is
such a high spirited song for me, so I would definitely danced to to that one.
Just voicing my opinion here, not trying to sound like a soap opera case. I
just wonder how many other ladies WISH it were them up there with John???
LADIES!!!
Hey, we probably could have seen that string a little better up there too!!!
;)))) LOL
Peace,
Janice

I hate to do this, too but I'm outta here as well. This crossed my
threshold level. Ya'll can do what you want and maintain an adolescent
"crush" and whisper and giggle about strings and toes and behinds and
"crinkly eyes" and hokey pokey - Okie Dokie? I don't want to have to wade
through another thread of "personal comments" back and forth between
select people. What's next? Comparing JD to Leonardo DeCaprio? (Ooo!
Ouch! I feel the flames coming on now. "You're not a true fan" "You're so
mean spirited" "You're a troll" etc. etc. etc. - WRONG! and I don't have
to "prove" I'm a fan by engaging in adolescent locker room talk.) If you
are offended by this then you probably should be. Yea, yea, yea, I've heard
all the arguments about free speech and be able to say what you want, and
blah, blah, blah however, when several people have asked others to refrain
from these types and comments and are ignored, it infringes on my right to
not have to read it.
Consider me unsubscribe.
Those of you with whom I have exchanged personal email, I hope you will
keep in touch. I'd love to talk about the music and be informed of
releases of CDs, videos, etc.
We all came here because of our love of John Denver......and I hope our
love of him will bring this board back together again........I have not
always agreeded with what someone else has said.......but that is
OK......I just go on by......sorry that anyone feels that we have
stepped out of bounds here...........
Mary.....I love you, my twin sis.......
and I will always be here for you !!!!!!!!!
Sorry the quote stopped so abruptly. Wouldn't want to offend anyone. I worry
about the mental stability of one who gets so bent out of shape at an attempt
to lighten one's day. So you thought it was in poor taste. Fine. Just say so
without all the histrionics! You have now forced me to read it and to some
extent, respond. People have the need to play. Even grownups. Give the
members of this ng some slack! You have, no doubt, said things that many of us
might object to if we wanted to be petty. Smile, it won't kill you! and
Mary, you just keep on keepin' on and spare no emotional down time on these
posts of criticism. LOL Sue

Lighten up. There is no doubt in my mind that John would get a real kick out of
our discussions of his g-string, his "height," etc.
As to our juvenile crushes on John? Well, we all know it's a little silly but
it is fun. It's not just locjer room talk. The great thing about John was that,
unlike most people I know, John expressed emotions, thoughts, ideas, etc; he
spoke from the heart. That's the real appeal. I mean, sure, he was cute,
(though sometimes a little nerdy), but he was not the typical hunk that causes
teenagers to swoon. (Although, and I hope this offends you qphoton & Mark) he
did have a really cute little butt.
Let's celebrate his joy. By having discussions like this, I feel that we keep
his human spirit alive. .

Yes, I will say those dreaded party-pooping, controversial words. "I
don't want to have to read..." cutting remarks directed against members
of this NG or anyone else. No, I can't stop anyone from expressing their
opinions nor do I particularly want to but I would go so far as to
actually beg that anyone who wants to take a shot at someone else out of
hurt or anger please take a long time to consider what you're saying.
You don't really even know who you might hurt. I, for one, have felt the
sting of some of these words despite the fact that no one suspects they
might be directing them at me. There are certain discussions that I've
read here that I'm not terribly fond of. I have now found out that,
because of this, I would be thought of by some of you as humorless and
uptight. OK, maybe sometimes I am. Sometimes I'm not. Others have been
treated to a caricature of themselves as juvenile and silly. I'm sure
that, not unlike myself, sometimes they are and sometimes they're not. I
don't, nor does anyone else here, deserve to feel badly about what we
are. We all deserve to be the kind of people who treat each other with
respect and who are treated that way in return. There've been some mean
words and there have been some kind an caring words on all sides.
Please, let's strive for the latter. Let's give ourselves the freedom
to be honest with each other by taking responsibility for how we express
ourselves. "Hold on tightly, let go lightly. It's only surrender, it's
all in the game."
Know that I think you're all special people and that I look forward to
continuing to learn from everyone's point of view and experiences. In
my, I guess, not so humble opinion, anyone who doesn't feel that way is
entitled to do what they like. I wish they would try to keep the
mudslinging to a minimum and I hope that if they don't, we'll all keep
in mind that you don't fight fire with fire, cool water works a little
better.
Peace?

say Mark,
did you ever listen to the giggle in Johns voice as he sung a
particular line in "Home Grown Tomatoes"? ...and that was for the ears of
many more than this newsgroup will probably ever hold...relax a
little..that which is brittle will break, be like the Willow and go with
the flow a little :)

And what about a certain line in " Saturday night in Toledo Ohio " ?
Took me ages before I got that little joke.............Talk about

He is so in my heart
He is here
He could never be gone
These folks would probably unsubscribed to John if they had heard his
comments about spring in Atlanta, Feb '97. He said the thought of
spring, etc "made his whole body hard!"
Don't worry about it Marion - I had to have it explained to me!!

Honey, what I want to do with John Denver doesn't involve singing...although it
does involve....
uh, maybe I better keep this "G" rated.

"And the song that I am singing
Is a prayer to nonbelievers,
Come and stand beside us,
We can find a better way."
--John Denver--
Come on, Sis, EVERYONE peeks into your JD dreams. You have such *good* ones.
Oh, that did it!!! I was sitting here, working up a good mad for some
insensitive squirt because he hurt someone I care for very deeply, and you
ruined a perfectly good mad by making me laugh myself on the floor.
Maybe there are those who bought the "clean cut John Denver" image and refuse
to see the human side of him. I hate to ruin your day, but the man had a bowel
movement on a daily basis, spit, swore, ate, drank, AND HAD SEX. And for
someone who had such a low image of himself--his words, not mine, read his
book--knowing that women (and some men, ladies, let's not be gender exclusive
here) found him the subject of a few sordid and sweaty dreams, would probably
put a big ole smile on his face. And probably is putting one there right now.
Please! You don't want to know some of the fantasies I sleep with at night.
They're postively XXX rated and I have a very vivid imagination. That doesn't
detract from the inspiring and beautiful music that plays on my CD player every
day of my life.
"made his whole body hard." Gods, that's a good one. I wish I could have
heard that. I'd really have been hooting on the floor.
Oh, good. I was getting more than a little jealous there. ;-)
Dot
Wow! That must have been a real "shot in the arm." Jan in NE
And so you know why he was so sexy?? Because he didn't try to be! He
didn't have that macho attitude so many guys try to have (fortunately,
not my hubby either). He was real, and not afraid to show love, and his
emotions. His boyish charm, along with an obvious intellegence, and a
beautiful smile that made you want to smile just watching it, went a
long way with women. Of course, that tush didn't hurt either! :}
