Yea, but so was every other major city in the US. I'm sure cities such as
Miami, Chicago, LA and Dallas would come before Atlanta so I wouldn't worry
about it too much.
Besides, the only thing that would really get Atlantan's fired up about losing
to terrorism might be the Varsity.

That He was. Bad as things were though, think how much worse they could have
been if the had targeted a nuclear powerplant or Boulder dam. Knock out an
operating Nuker near a major city and you could make it uninhabitable for who
knows how long. An American Chernobyl. Knock down Boulder dam and just about
the entire southwest dies of thirst. Granted, anyone that crashes a passenger
plane into a building with themselves in it is not exactly Mensa material, but
their choices of targets seems odd. They could have made the physical damage to
the U.S. a lot worse, and If they were going for psychological targets it would
seem things like the Statue of Liberty, the Capitol building, Disneyland/World
or the Golden Gate bridge would have had as much or more of a psychological
impact than the targets they did choose. As well planned and financed as the
operation was, one has to thank God they didn't strike for the jugular. It
could have been a whole lot worse, though that's of little comfort to the
thousands of grieving American families.

Cal.... forgetting Atlanta has one of the busiest airports in the world, and
is one of the largest city in the south, oops forgot to mention we are a
major central transportation hub... ok ok, we do have one of the suckiest
football teams.

You are 100% correct Jocko, but remember, we don't know how many more planes
they MIGHT have taken over if we had not done the smart thing of shutting down
the airports. Perhaps they thought we would only shut down those airports
involved and they were going to strike out west as the day started there. We
may never know and honest, I'm not sure I want to.
