Hey all,

Me and my Parrothead fiance will be getting married next June and I would like
to have our first dance as a Buffett song (and no WDWGDAS is not an
option)...Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Kevin and Kristin...

Permanent Reminder of a Temporary Feeling?

ok... I guess that isn't very romantic even if it does mention marriage.
I guess the ol stand by Survive would be my second suggestion.

We tried to used "Bigger than the Both of Us" at our wedding. Except the guy
running the church sound system played "Come to the Moon". It made for a great
wedding day nightmare story. Whatever you do choose, make sure they play the right
side.
At my wifes memorial service she wanted "Lovely Cruise" played. Against numerous
objections from family members I had it played. It was so beautiful and fitting.
her best freinds who knew her best cried their eyes out and said it was the perfect
song to end the service with.

not by Jimmy, but my fiancee and I are going to use "Love Is Made of This" by
Club Trini. Give it a spin...it's a beautiful song.

We did "Come Monday" and "Slow Boat to China" and you could also use "Banana
Wind", "Blue Heaven Rendezvous" or "Boomerang Love."

If the two of you are feeling saucy, have the DJ spin "Smart Woman (In A Real
Short Skirt."

Don't forget your dance with the new mother in law. How about "My Barracuda?"

I had never thought of it until someone mentioned it here a while back, but
"Steamer" has the most romantic words of any Buffett song I can think of.

I remember that river
First time we made love
Oh I still kinda shiver a little
At what I'm thinkin' of

How your dress it just floated
All down around your knees
And I held my breath, my God my girl
'Cause I could not believe

"Souvenirs" or "I wish lunch could last fover" would be different unless
you want to play "I used to have money one time"

Most of the Jimmy Buffett songs that I know are not what you'd call romantic. But if
I ever find a state besides Vermont to marry .... and I find a guy to marry, I would
probably choose one or two by Buffy St. Marie. (ok so I'm an old hippie). "The
Wedding Song", is one, the other is "Until It's Time For You To Go".

If you want something with a little more bounce, some Texas Swing - Asleep At The
Wheel have a cover of "Baby You've Got What It Takes" that would make a great first
dance at the reception.

How about Love and Luck? Its not a slow song, per se, but I find it to
be very romantic. Its a very special song to my guy and me :)

Hey Kevin, Congrats to you both. I have listened to Buffett a lot and I'm a sentimental fool at 63 still. Try listening to Jimmy Buffett's... "Anything,Anytime, Anywhere". If I had heard this song before I heard, Don Henley's... For My Wedding, well, We Love the Eagles as well so it would still be Don Henley but for a Parrot Wedding....just try " Anything, Anytime, Anywhere. Check it out.
