Oscar accuser ordered to pay

NEW YORK -- A woman who claimed to have been intimidated by boxer
Oscar De La Hoya during a wild night at a New York City hotel has now
been ordered to pay his legal bill, after a judge said her lawsuit was
"frivolous" and malicious.

A Manhattan court ruled Friday that model Angelica Cecora owes $12,000
in legal fees to the former welterweight champion.

The judge had previously ruled that Cecora's lawsuit was meritless,
and said it appeared to have been filed only to harass the boxer.

Cecora's lawsuit had accused De La Hoya of a variety of perverted
behaviors during a night of consensual sex, but stopped short of
accusing him of forcing her to do anything against her will.

Her lawyers say she will appeal.

Wow! That's really adult of you!

The headline in the New York Post was the best. "Down Goes Hooker".

Cecora claimed she "was afraid to leave the hotel room because she
feared that the defendant would attempt to have sex with her again
against her will."

De La Hoyas lawyer, Judd Burstein, contended her "fears" were
ridiculous because his clients "touching of plaintiff, a prostitute,
in the context of a night of sexual activity cannot be deemed
offensive," and there was no allegation they had done anything she
hadnt consented to.

The judge agreed. He found the case "completely without merit in the
law," and an obvious effort to "harass or maliciously injure" the
troubled fighter. He noted Cecora, 25, had a press conference before
the first hearing in the case in January.
