Interesting enough, Courtney's first name is mentioned in that
Washington Post article on the Jenni/Dex/Courtney ordeal. I knew from
her website that Courtney is her last name, but she gives the first name
out for the article. Also, it is mentioned that "Dex" is a nickname, not
his real name - and that both Jenni & Courtney wouldn't say what his
real name is. Dex didn't want to comment on the article either. Can you
blame him? Anything he could say would make him look like an asshole.

Interesting. The Post is pretty hard on Jenni, about as negative as
Jeff's piece was. Absolutely no fluff here; Jenni is never referred to
as a "freelance web designer" or a "programmer". There are none of the
references in the infamous Capture Magazine piece to "8 hours a day of
coding, 7 days a week". Instead, Libby Copeland observes, "the stunt
[Jennicam] got old." No worship a la Sheila Murphy in the Post piece;
it looks like Copeland did good groundwork and even tried to get Jenni
to fess up about what the cam brings in. Jenni admits to losing
a "couple of dozen members". And Jenni, we are told, has
problems "philosophically" with her critics.

Overall, a good piece. Should be on Sheila Murphy's required reading
list.

so it seems to be a pretty much complete picture (except for that COWARD
Dex who wouldn't talk, and would even say what his real name is, just
his "nickname" is Dex)

It's interesting that the article comes from Jenni's former town of
residence for so long. Guess there is no love for here there.

it's funny how I don't regard comments like 'hefty', I forget that
others might be more sensitive to them.

Being a 'hefty' person myself doesn't automatically make me give a shit
if others focus on that stuff. If someone makes a comment to me about
my weight, my usual response is 'Duh!, you think I don't know?'

It doesn't matter how big someone is, just how naked they are.

Excellent article, fair and balanced. However, Courtney (Pamela?) is most
*definitely* not hefty. I personally view her as very attractive, both
physically and otherwise. More proof that nice people finish last (in some
people's opinions!) yet finish first with those who value sensitivity and
compassion. The karma wheel will roll over "Dex" (cowardly nickname) and
you-know-who!

Check out the JenniShow that has video of their trip from DC to CA.
"Hefty" is not the nicest or most politically correct way to describe
Courtney, but it's true. That doesn't mean she isn't a good person.

ONE gripe I have is that the author makes reference to Courtney's
weight, calling her fat basically. From the pics I have seen of her, she
looks good enough to eat!! I like them with some curves to 'em!! :)

Why did the author have to say that about Courtney though?

Perhaps to make Jenni look more vamp-sh and Courtney more of a victim? ie -
the slender, sexy, Jenni... Personally, I don't agree, but Courtney said as
much when she posted something about not being able to compete w/the slim,
sexy, famous Jenni, so perhaps the author picked it up from the journal.

To me, there's more to "attractive" than just pretty. I can think of plenty
of gorgous women w/personalities than make them damned unattractive. I'm in
midtown Manhattan, heart of model country, so I've seen unattractive
personalities up close.

Fame's a fucked-up thing. If Jenni were just another 26(?) year old, probably
most would consider her moderately attractive (until she opened her mouth),
but hardly a slim, sexy vamp. It was really sad reading Courtney's post last
month that she couldn't compete. Celebrity - even on the "Jenni" level - can
really skew our perceptions.

I thought the vague point was that d'ex took the first opportunity he
had to go to 'greener pastures', with jenni being younger, thinner,
famous (relatively), and perhaps rich. I do agree with many however
that Courtney is great looking. I think most of us here would desire a

I think Courtney has alot more to offer a man in a positive way, where
Jenni has shown negative & destructive behavior. She seems to use men
until she fills her need of them (maybe she is a succubus???)

Courtney has brains, charm, beauty, a sense of humor, and class - things
Jenni will never have no matter how long & hard she tries.

Gotta go with all of you on this one. I'm a writer in Los Angeles and
work in television with the occasional foray into films. Out of all
the people I've worked with (and I've worked as an Assistant Director
and Cinematographer before writing) I've found that the "middle tier"
of celebrities (you know, the ones who are 'second bananas' or star in
inferior shows -- my apologies to the WB and UPN...) are the biggest
assholes!

Not that JenniScam would even be in THAT bracket, but she is
prototypical of those who think the world revolves around them and
can't even tie their own shoes or break wind without an assistant --
and those assistants are usually really pathetic wannabes who will
never make it past the boot-licking level.

As far as physical looks go, some of the most 'beautiful' women in
Hollywood are so ugly on the inside -- bitchy, rude, inconsiderate,
nasty -- that any 'average' woman on the street in L.A. is ten times
more desirable.

JenniScam was a cute, likeable young woman in college who had a great
idea at the right time. What we see on the camera now is a hollow
shell of a woman who flew to close to the light of "fame" and got
burned.

If D'ex were half a man (insert your own joke here...) he'd grab a
fire extinguisher...

I thinks there's no question that Courtney would be a far more
desirable person once you got to know her -- in terms of personality
she is light years away from Jenni. However, all the pictures I seen
of Courtney (JenniShow and cam shots when Jenni first moved to CA)
show Courtney to be quite.....um.....hefty (as the Washington Post
writer put it). But that doesn't make her undesirable -- there's
more to a relationship than looks and everybody can't have a
supermodel as a wife/girlfriend -- nor does everybody even want one.

But, if you didn't know either of them, and just judged them on
appearance (which all of us do, whether we want to admit it or not)
then Jenni would certainly appear to be the younger, more attractive
and more desirable of the two. And it's clear that Courntey felt the
same way. Although Jenni would certainly not be called "slender",
she is when compared to Courtney (at least the pictures I've seen)
and, knowing how men tend to be, Courtney felt she couldn't "compete"
against a younger, more attractive woman who also just happened to be
(somewhat) famous.

In the end, however, Courtney wins because a Karma explosion of
volcanic proportions is building. And, best of all, Dex will not go
quietly. Unlike his alleged plans for Courtney, he will not simply
drive away in his van, with nothing but his guitar and underwear. He
has hitched his wagon to the Jennicam gravy train, and Jenni will be
in for quite a surprise when she tries to simply walk away, like she
did with Jawfree, Bawb, Mr. Radio, the Hospice, etc.......

It will be loud and messy. And we'll all enjoy the show.

Any bets, when the time comes, there will be days on end of "Jennicam is
experiencing technical difficulties"?

It'll be Hell in a Kitchen, and World War III together... I'll start
watching again. Maybe.

I've thought this several times. Courtney is almost enough to make a
gay man go straight.

I mean this.

Ludwig.

If I didn't think "worship sites" were inherently absurd, I'd put one up
to Courtney.

And if I didn't "know better", I'd say you, Ludwig Teugels, aren't gay
at all...

But of course, that's not "true"! :)

Neitzche,

1. Courtney is definitely NOT supermodel-thin. IMHO, not a big
deal, it's a fact, NOT a criticism.

2. Obviously, the reporter (or the editor) wanted to pad the
article a little, and was to lazy to find a less offensive word.

It was odd that they chose that as the negative item about Courtney. I
mean, the fact she was played by Jenni & Dex is obvious, but that showed
a lack of professionalism on the writer's part to call her 'hefty'. That
didn't make any sense, or are we to believe that it was ok for Dex to
dump her since she is hefty? Like that one thing (even though I don't
agree with it, she isn't hefty, she is voluptous) makes everything that
happened ok.

You're turning lesbian?

I think we should move on and discuss more important issues of the day,
such as "WHY is Doug Flutie having a meal with Terry Bradshaw?"

I thought the appropriate gift was a toaster oven.

Will Pinball Clemons lure Doug Flutie back to the Argonauts where he is
really needed?

You can only use so many toaster ovens. HOWEVER, Wal-Mart WILL give you

an $8 broken shovel that was HIS FAULT.

Hand-crocheted potholders hold up well under winter wear and tear. That's
what I'm sending!

Courtney also goes by Pamela Courtney now. I believe she married and it could be Fury now. I lived nextdoor to her for a while.
