I'mnot sure Corpus Christ wouldfly with the idea of losing their full
blown Interstate for a spur. Sure, it's just a number, but people are
like that. :)

Still, to me, having I-37 extend down to Brownsville is pretty cool.

Anyone have any news on I-37 being extended northward to Johnson City?
Several people mentioned it on the news years ago when they started
upgrading 281 into a freeway north of San Antonio....

TxDOT is finalizing plans to widen US 281 to a full freeway from Loop
1604 to the Comal/Blanco County line. The timeline, though, is
long-term. I believe the section from 1604 to Stone Oak Parkway is
set to be let later this year or early 2004. So it's a loooonnnggg
way off.
