Actually, he'd have gotten flamed if he'd been stupid enough to say
anything towards the other end of the spectrum, e.g. the defeatist
"I think the show is probably dead," or the arrogant "I think it'll
get renewed FOX just hasn't said so yet."
(As for the "King of the World" comment at the Oscars, do some
people still not get it that he was just doing a riff on Jack's line from
Titanic?)
