Where are all of the regulars?

There is typically a lull in posting between films. May be a year or
so until scripting and casting for Bond 23 moves ahead and posting
will pick back up around that time.
Would be good to have a new book to talk about in the meantime though.

Well, we don't need a thread like this discussing the absense of
discussion, nor someone like Mr. Rodriguez to complain he's not
sufficiently entertained.
If Mr. Rodriguez would like to see on topic discussion in this
newsgroup, he's always free to begin a thread. And complaining about
WQ as he all too often does doesn't count.

As it happens, the affected Verizon customers have no Usenet service at
all through their ISP and had to subscribe to a News Service Provider
separately. This was to be expected.
The era of receiving News as part of one's ISP subscription is pretty
much over.

I wasn't trying to insult anyone, Adam, or imply anyone needed to
entertain me. My apologies if it came across that way. I simply
wondered if the board was still active, given that I logged in and
only spam downloaded to my Usenet reader, which was surprising given
how long it had been since I'd checked the group. I was simply
wondering if everyone had gone away, that's all. I wasn't trying to
pick a fight. This is a great group--I was just lamenting what I
perceived as it no longer existing. Apparently, I was incorrect.

I didn't see a point in doing so if the group had lost all of its

That's on your News service provider. If you have one that implements
spam countermeasures, then you'll see nearly no spam on Usenet in any group.

No, not at all--I was simply checking to see if this group was still
used by fans, that's all.
But I have no interest in turning this into a debate, so I'll make it
on-topic and say that I've recently begun rewatching all of the films
on DVD, from the Ultimate Edition boxsets. I'm amazed at how great
these films look all these years later--and how much more vibrant they
are, now that they've gone through the remastering process. Are they
all as improved as the first three, or did those just benefit the most
because they were the oldest?

amount of spam, a phenomenon virtually non-existent. It's a shame. I
don't visit regularly anymore mostly because I lost Usenet access.
I'm still in touch with more than a few of the friends I've made on
this board, and Paul and I are still publishing HMSS. So that hasn't
changed.
Will look forward to 23 and share more thoughts as the date nears.

I posted a Bond question a couple of weeks ago entitled "Where are we with
the next film" or something along these lines. Spam sadly well is spam, but
there are ways to filter is out so that you dont see it.

slrn runs on Windows and has a precompiled binary. It's not like
Free Agent but once you get used to it, you'll like it better.

I'm a Mac too (on a PC) and suggest you shell out the ridiculously small sum
for news.individual.net. You get all newsgroups and spam free to boot.
