I was really hyped for this movie, got a group of people from
work to go, and luckily -- I was NOT disappointed!

Better than GoldenEye! While I'll have to see it a few more
times to get perspective, it is currently my favorite Bond
movie (I hate to say "best" -- that upsets too many people).

Michelle Yeoh was great! I want to be her!

Pierce had a harder edge, but was still able to toss bon mot
along with grenades. My only quibble was he kissed the dead
Paris goodbye one too many times. (And as far as the "bite"
kiss goes, "anytime, anywhere baby!")

Loved M & Moneypenny and M & the Admiral. When I'm too old
to imagine myself as Wai Lin, I'll be imagining myself as M!

Q looked a little older but a lot spryer.

Music was much better.

Loved the techno-woman opening sequence. Crow's song is growing
on me. Lang's is still the best.

Carver was good, not great. Don't know what I'd change, though.
Loved the "pathetic" bit.

Stamper is the new Dolph Lundgren.

Torn on Schiavelli's torturemeister.

Was not impressed with Ricky Jay.

Was Colin Salmon the sexy British naval guy at the beginning?
Which Prime Suspect was he in? F*** Denzel! You want a bro'
playing James Bond? There's your man.

Great action -- it never stopped! It's getting to be a
little much, though. I feel like I'm missing out by not
having my own machine gun.

Liked the stunts, the chemistry between Pierce and Michelle,
the quips, the action -- very few negatives for me. (With
all the hype and all the info/clips I'd seen, I was really
afraid the movie would be an anticlimax, but it wasn't.
Thanks Roger Spotiswoode (sp?)!)

Pierce is the number 1 James Bond in my book. (I'm not
afraid to adjust with the times!)

That sequence actually surprised me. I was not expecting anything like it.
Usually, those sequences are a mix of real-life photography in moving
mosaics, the last movie included. This one was a real departure. Not that it
was unliked, but it was just different.

He needed to be larger than life or appear more menacing. Entertaining still.

He was hilarious! Once again totally unexpected. But hey, in the end it added
to Bond's ruthlessness.

>Was not impressed with Ricky Jay.

I had no idea that he was a "name" to begin with, until I started reading the
web site for TND. OTOH, I suppose its a good thing that he didn't do anything
terribly flamboyant -- can we say "Boris"?

That's why you have an N64. =)
