I saw the first AP right after seeing all the Bonds, and I caught so
many references...I'm sure I could easily list 30 or more, and I just
know that I missed a bunch. And I spotted a bunch of Moore references
in TSWSM, too...(I'm the only person I know who recognized the scene
where Austin looks at the volcano through binocs as being identical to
the scene in TSWLM where Moore looks at the water base from an
approaching boat)
Just for fun:
Austin - James (duh)
Vanessa - Contessa Theresa maybe? They marry, after all...
Dr Evil - Dr No (clothing) and Blofeld from YOLT
Basil - M
Number 2 - Largo
Frau - Irma Bunt/Rosa Klebb (they're both the same anyway)
Patty O'Brien - Red Grant
Mustafa - hmmm...maybe the Russian chess expert from FRWL
I don't want to say it's the bad guy from OP
Trying to keep it Connery with the first AP...
Random Task - Well, Oddjob of course...
Fagina - Gotta be Pussy Galore...
scenarios:
Dr. No - Dr Evil feeds Austin a last meal, makes him wear
quasi-futuristic clothes.
FRWL - Dr Evil kills henchmen; Patty O'Brien tries
to strangle Austin with a wrist chain
Goldfinger - "Who throws his shoe?!" "No Mr Powers, I expect
you to die! Begin the unneccessarily slow
dipping mechanism!"
Thunderball - "She's a man, baby!" Largo was also called No.
1. The unfreezing of Austin reminds me of
Operation: Thunderball, with Americans talking to
British etc.
YOLT - Dr. Evil. 'Nuff said.
DAF - The end scene looks exactly like the end of DAF,
with Bond and Case on the boat, they've just been
attacked by Kidd and Wint (it's Random Task in AP),
and they watch the moving star in the sky.
From TSWSM:
Felicity - Oh, I don't know. All the women are the same anyway.
Mini-Me - Jaws! Think about it: he bites, he's
indestructible, he gets pity in the Moonraker portion
of the film...
He only speaks once and has a deep smooth voice...
Ivana - Tatiana, from FRWL? Oh, but we want it to be
Moore this time...let's go with XXX.
Swallows - The girl in TSWLM who 007 tries to get info out
of, but ends up using as a human shield.
scenarios:
LALD - Now that I think of it, Mustafu never dies...just
like Baron Samedi! Yeah, that's the ticket...
TMWTGG - Mini Me is also like the midget guy.
TSWLM - The view of the volcano is shaky and distant;
Robin Swallows; Mini Me is just like Jaws.
Moonraker - Adventure on the moon involving lasers; Mini Me
is still like Jaws.
That's just about where I run out...any other good ones?
A
Nah, though some are listed at IMDb, I think.

There are more direct references to the Flint movies than to Bond,
actually.

They obviously can't make fun of AVTAK; that was done in the film.

*Sigh* You know you will have to pay for that.

The scene in AP 2 involving Vanessa brought a tear to my eye.

Now that's a stretch Andrew. No one messes with me Lucky Charms.

And we have the original shoe thrown by Random Task at the JBWFC...soon to
be auctioned at Mike Feeney's estate down by the river (he lives in a van).

There is no other way.

Mini Me was a spoof of the Marlon Brando film The Island of Dr. Moreau in
which he had a miniature version of himself, right down to the piano duet.

Hey, it all works out: They're both Irish (I think Red was Irish,
wasn't he?), they both have a little chain at their sleeve with which
they strangle people...well, that's about it really. Works for me
though!

Huh! Haven't seen that one. But my comparison to Jaws still stands:
he bites, he has a low voice and essentially the same 1 line (JAWS:
"Well, here's to us." MINI-ME: "You and I."), he's indestructible (he
flew through space), and he gets lots of sympathy in the Moonraker
sequences ("I salute you!"). And he has an abnormal height.

Not sure if you mean it, Shad, but this is an obvious one - right down
to the Irish accent which Fleming's Donovan Grant has.

On the DVD to FWRL it includes two deleted scenes. The first is a true
masterpiece in which Grant does an Irish jig with Rosa in the gypsy camp.
In the second deleted scene is when Grant and Bond are fighting to the death
and Grant mutters to Bond "no one messes with me Lucky Charms".
I urge everyone on this newsgroup to go out and by a DVD player so you can
enjoy the full experience of the James Bond films. As of right now I do
sell them wholesale and if you send me your credit card number I will set
you up with one, I do this because I care.
