Is there a film about Rumi's life?

I'm not aware of any film biography. You might find Coleman Barks' video,
"Rumi - Poet of the Heart" interesting. I'ts been a while since I've seen it,
but, as I recall, it has some stories of Rumi's life, and a bit of information
about his period, along with readings of his poetry in English.

There's also an excellent new book out -- "Rumi -- Past and Present, East and
West", by Frank Lewis. It's a scholarly treatise, including information on
Islam, Sufism, and so on. It's long, but well-written, and pleasant reading.
The bio information is well contained in one chapter.
